Just put 650ish miles on the new S/c. Hit the grapevine at 85 and it pulled the whole way up. No constant gear shifting. Loving it.

I grabbed that stupid sheetmetal guard and bent the lower portion of it outward. Never cut anything. Only requirement was pliers.

Also, I vastly HATED those instructions for the install of the TRD Supercharger. I felt they were not well explained and painted overall a much different picture of the install than was previously painted in my mind.

    Nah.

They just have to deny you and then you have to start the legal process to make them prove it. Then they stall while collecting information and your truck is still sitting waiting for parts.

My mileage actually stayed the same on the trip. Hard to say exactly though because I was loaded up with 4 people, gear and a dog. Also depending how windy it is in antelope valley, my mileage might change.

I just filled up my tank since SC install, and my MPG was 16.5. That was mixed driving and romping on it a few times.

I've sourced an SC and kit, have reluctant spousal unit approval but am having difficulty justifying the cost to myself. No one would go hungry, bills would not go unpaid but I still can't justify it. With this mod I'd have over $50K in this truck. I need some words of wisdom, either direction...I'm guessing there's only one direction on this thread.

I just put mine in on Friday. I was not overly impressed the first day. As I've heard others say on here it takes time for the computer to learn for it to operate properly.
I'm not sure if it's me or the computer but it seems to be getting better each day.
It's definitely more fun to drive around.
Mine seems like it's sucking down some Fuel. I'll run a tank thru it and then start checking milage.
    I'm not regretting getting it

I used this when I installed mine this past weekend. It helped out quite a bit seeing colored pictures and what not. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-1gr-fe-supercharger-installation.101770/

I'd recommend getting one if you can find one. So far I don't regret it at all. It's only been a couple days since I've had it installed, but the more I drive it the happier I am I got it. So if you got the money and everything I'd say go for it while you can.

What's another 5-6k when you got's tons in it already? You'll never get your money back but you'll love the HP you get, you prolly need it if you got bigger tires and lots of armor.

A custom turbo setup is always the way to go. It takes time, but people have done it. You could also jsut do some simple stuff yourself like port and polish those heads and maybe switch to arp head studs and steel head gaskets if you plan on making any boost.

Yup I'm in the same boat. Very hard to justify it IMO. I could take that 5k and another 10 and get a pretty awesome pre owned vehicle as a DD. Then have the truck for weekend fun! I was just looking at a 2010 G37S for 15k and put a SC or turbo on that biootch later.

It's been 4 days that I've had mine back......I love it and I'm glad I ended up getting it. I debated it in my head for a couple weeks after the bulletin came out and then tried justifying the cost. In the end I just said fuck it. I had the money and you only live once. I'm totally glad I did it and do not regret it one bit!!! I say if your debating it, do it you won't regret it.
