    I actually just got it fixed last night.

    I tried the non-impact 3/8'' drive swivel with an adapter to fit my 1/2'' impact. between the non-impact swivel and the adaptor, there was just too much play in the system, and the hammer from the impact was pretty much absorbed. so for the last 5 days, I've been soaking the bolts in atf/acetone mix (not sure if it actually did anything). then last night, armed with four 14mm x 3/8'' drive sockets, I went to town with the 3/8'' breaker bar. got the bar in place, hanging straight down off the nut (transfer case skid had to be removed). I hung from the slider, with one foot on the ground under the truck, and kicked the shit out of the breaker bar until it broke the nut free. used 4 sockets, because a 3/8'' drive thin wall, 12 point socket doesn't hold up to that kind of abuse very well. one socket per nut kept the nuts from stripping.

    tossed some antisieze on the threads and reinstalled with the torque wrench, and should be good to go. old carrier bearing was toast. could almost pull it off by hand. truck no longer shakes on takeoff now :)

    there was no evidence of dirt/debris, or water on any of the nuts and bolts. some of the newest looking hardware on the entire truck actually. I honestly think it's the y-pipe running right under the flange that got them.

    Crazy! The first time I took mine off, I used a 3/8" ratchet with an extension and swivel. The came off with a bit of force, but I didn't have to hammer on it. I have one of those pass through ratchet sets, that is thin enough to fit in there now. If I need more leverage than that ratchet then I have a that works well. But, it sounds like mine have never been as stuck as yours. I pull mine off pretty regularly though. I carry a rock crawling driveshaft and a street driveshaft and swap them around.

    yeah, I've had those nuts off 4 or 5 times prior to this. never had the issue. threads looked pristine too, so I'm really not sure what happened this time.

    A/C only works on high, so I've got a new blower motor resistor coming in the mail tomorrow. (Love Amazon prime as always :D )

    had some deep thoughts going on while taking a poo on company time..... and I realized, that this resistor, and the resistor in the outdoor temperature display, are really the only things that I've had fail, or wear out pre-maturely on this truck, that are not directly related to other modifications I've made, or off roading. The truck is 8 years old, so to only have had two resistors burn up in that time is an incredible track record. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but well done Toyota, for a hell of a reliable truck :cheers:

    install by unplugging harness to the left of the blower motor (4 wires), and removing old resistor by taking out 2x 5.5mm screws (behind the glove box of course)

    well, I'm actually at 92k, but with years of driving on 33s and 35s, my best guess is that I passed 100k a couple months ago
