Yeah Sorry......... I am looking forward to the Pricing on the new Tacos OR 2WD and wondering what the spread would be on my 15 Sport with 2K miles........Crazy I know but if its over $5k I will live with the 15 another year or two. I should have bought the OR instead of the sport. I miss the locker.

Will most likely be buying 2016 Taco, but need to see and drive before I plunk down the cash. Have no problem waiting a few months I have two other vehicles to drive. (will be keeping both)

When the Colorado first came out the dealer had two on the lot. Now they have a whole row of them. Will be the same with the Tacoma.

Want Black DCSB TRD chances are will have to wait till early 2016 until dealers have some inventory.

I'm with you. I'm in the market for a new truck, and the 2016 Taco is currently at the top of my list. But I'm in no hurry, and don't mind waiting a few extra months to get exactly what I want at a reasonable price.

Want the DCSB 4x4 SR5 AT MGM.

I think you nailed it. I have been going through the same thing with the new redesigned Miata . Miata released a 1000 of "Release Editions" with a $500 deposit in May. I decided to wait.

They are starting to come in now. One dealer has a $7000 ADM plus $295 for Nitrogen tires on one that was refused..... Mazda will likely get involved there as they don't want the ND to be priced higher than MSRP. But it's the same thing. Redesign . Lots of interest. Relatively less than the Tacoma though

The thing with the New MX5 is they are using the new SkyActive that has been out and the same interior and tech that has been out, so there will be few first year issues. unlike the Tacoma which is ALL new (Maybe the engine is from the Lexus G350??? and already road tested?) There are likely a few more nits the Tacoma may have as it has more new parts.

But like always the Tacoma will not be discounted big which is good for those of us who have them on the resale market. I am more interested I think in reading early adopter reviews praises and otherwise.

I will probably get the new ND mazda before the 16 Tacoma. I am not driving my 15 enough as it is.

I got hitched last year, since then I've been laid off and started a new job, but my wife has been my rock. Wouldn't be where I am without her. Now hoping to pay off my car, keep making payments like I own the car, and then use that and the money I have saved to get a new Taco.

    ok, hello...new member here.

I have had many Toyotas over the years. Was even dating the dealer's daughter a few decades ago. Hung around her brother alot back then too. I used to get a new Taco every few years at smoking deals. then in 2000 I got a Tundra....ran it to 125,000 miles til 2005 , then handed it to my father in law who still use that as his good truck. I have an 05 crew cab tundra...love it...longest I ever owned one vehicle . period. just rolled over 300k on it last weekend. haven't been able to decide what truck I want next....I'm thinking I want the 2016 Taco....don't want to wait a few months, so maybe I do the 2015?...need a truck cap on it and ready for a road trip in mid october...

dealer just called saying a few months yet...

The house you'll make money (bearing another crash) the truck you'll most certainly loose money...

..you already have a '15...that thing has a lot of life left in it. Run it until the wheels fall off.

Lol....anyone ever add up the costs to own a home? Prop tax, upkeep, insurance, etc....does your home increase in value in excess of this?

It does in Austin. It really just depends on the market. Not all appreciation is good.

I've paid my home off, so the only costs I have now are property taxes and homeowner's insurance. Considering those over the course of the year, it's like I'm paying $400 rent a month on 2000 sq ft and a big yard. Not bad considering the house next door rents for $2300 a month (not including utilities), which is highway robbery.

I can sell for a huge profit and buy a much larger house further out of town, but then my commute bumps up to at least an hour. Not worth it. I'm 20 minutes from work, in traffic.

Ever consider the opportunity cost of having the $$$$ tied up in a home? Dont forget to deduct capital gains tax on your percieved earnings...lol

    True.

Know what would look good in front of my paid-off house? A 2016 Tacoma! PUT THE GODDAMN THING IN THE ORDERING COMPUTER ALREADY SO I CAN GET MY DCLBTRDSPORT!!!!

These people who say "I've placed an order" are mentally masturbating. It ain't in until the computer says its in.

Is that back on topic enough?

Yep, we make the renter(s) pay all that... ;) and depends on the market, it is all a gamble...but a safer gamble than buying a new Tacoma.

New truck is gonna loose money any way you slice it, unless it is a classic...I have done ok with some old VW's, too bad none of them were mint Splittie 21 windows...but still did ok.

Rent or buy you should be paying insurance. Even the life insurance portion of your mortgage should be paid into private life insurance if you rent. If you have a kid and a wife like I do you don't want to leave them in poverty should you make a life ending mistake while working, randomly, or offroad.

As for the taxes, honestly like @SwollenGoat says, most rental property owners build them into the rent you pay anyways. Here renting is about 20% more expensive per month than buying because of that. Most of that money you spend renting could be going towards a mortgage. That mortgage, once paid, leaves you with a pile of equity to borrow against should something go wrong and a tax free, in Canada anyways, asset to sell and move down to a condo once you retire.
