So I searched and found a couple of threads about this subject. Tried them both and no luck. The very first local TW member I had pm'ed back and forth with sent me the following and it worked on the very first try:

    The instructions I followed were:

    1. Open the driver's door, and insert the key into the ignition. Leave the dooropen.
    2. Remove the key from the ignition, and within 5 seconds, re-insert the keyand then turn the ignition to ON.
    3. Wait at least 10 seconds, but less than 20 seconds. After waiting, press abutton on the remote twice. Press the same button two times - don't press twodifferent buttons. The system will acknowledge with a beep if you did it right.

I pushed the lock button I think, for some reason the unlock button didn't workfor me.

Props to itaro. Hopefully this will help others out also. Also, forgive me if this is a dupe.

    Cheers!

    Not enough...
There is also a way to disable horn honk on lock/unlock, but I believe that one is only happening if you have factory/dealer alarm activated.

As far as the short high pitch lock/unlock beep goes, mine beeps twice if i only unlock the driver's door and 4 more times if i unlock all doors, so i get like 6 beeps. Kind of annoying.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. No factory alarm here, so only beeping when I locked/unlocked my doors with the remote. I agree, any beeps are annoying and now they are gone. Hopefully it will work for you too.

I like the beep when I lock it, so I know it locked. Anyone know if there is a way to disable just the unlock beeps?

Just curious...do the lights still flash when you lock or unlock after this mod?

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Worked for me on my '14 DCLB TRD. Thanks. I hated the beep because other Toyotas have it and I kept hearing other people lock/unlock theirs in parking lots thinking it was mine that was beeping.

Yes. The lights still flash. Everything works like it should, just no beeps.

For the record, I messed up the steps on the first try. I suggest sitting in the cab first, closing the door and locking it. Press the unlock on the fob, open the driver's door and start the steps listed by the OP. And push the unlock button twice. It doesn't do it with the lock button. I counted 13 Mississippi and hit unlock twice. Heard a beep signal and that was that.

Or lift the hood ... hit your key fob ... find the noise maker ... remove it.

Now we just need to figure out how to unlock all doors with one keypress. I was able to do it on my old '04 Tundra, but havn't found a method for the Tacoma yet...

if no one has touched on this the unlock will turn the beep off. Repeat the process with the lock button twice and it will return to normal with the beeping. Just did this this morning

I tried the unlock button on my '14, didn't work. I didn't try the lock button. The tech at the dealer just disconnected the beeper when they disabled my seat belt beep.

I'm proud to use my 1st post to bump this particular thread. I just bought a 2014 Tacoma access cab 4-cyl....pretty much base truck with power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. My other cars have the "beep" when you lock/unlock...but you can turn it off. In only (2) days of Tacoma ownership, that freakin' beep was driving me nuts! I just started using the key instead of the fob to avoid the beep.

I just did this procedure and it worked great! I realize I could just locate and disable the beeper...but I'm not sure what else may use it...this is a MUCH better solution.

My son has a '08 4Runner, and he hates the beep...but has 'adjusted' to it after (2) years. He will be so happy to hear about this......I'm assuming this procedure will work on his car....hmm...I hope so.

Anyway...love the forum, and hope to be contributing soon.

This procedure just worked for my 2015 base Access Cab with factory keyless entry.

    Thanks again TW!

Lights still flash. But no beep. Yay!

For the record, I tried it on my '15 and here's how it went:

    1. Opened truck with fob.
    2. Opened driver door, left open.
    3. Inserted key into ignition, didn't turn it, removed immediately.
    3. Reinserted key within 5 seconds.
    4. With key in ignition, turned it to the "on" position immediately.
    5. Waited 10 seconds, THEN pressed the unlock button on the fob twice in quick succession. Note: Truck beeped twice signaling it was unlocked.
    6. Rotated the key to off.
    7. Removed key.
    8. Exited truck, closed door.
    9. Pressed lock button on fob, and door locked, no beep sound.

Note: lights did blink once to show locked, twice for unlock with NO beeping sound.
