What Dealership is this? When can you build the truck you want on the website?

I sent an email to my dealer this weekend after reading this thread. The Toyota manager replied back to come in this Thursday or Friday to get my Tacoma ordered.

Yup you got it. I didn't see anywhere on Toyota.com to actually order, so I just emailed him back with exactly what I want. TRD Off Road DCSB, Magnetic Gray, with JBL upgrade, and a sunroof if possible. I think he has to personally submit the order, but I'll let you know what happens next. But on the color I'm a little torn. That new Quicksand, or Sandstone (I've seen it called both) is starting to grow on me. It looks so similar to the desert tan color that all our HMMWVs are. And with blacked out rims, tires, front and rear steel bumpers, and maybe a black tool box, I think a Taco could really have a HMMWVish look with that color. What do you all think?

That and the blazin blue are my favorites. Will definitely be a cool look blacked out like that.

Toyota has changed the "Build Your Own" format recently on their websit. Must be getting ready to load the '16's.

So all current + Sandstorm - Pyrite Mica + SWB?

Did he indicate what new colors would be available? There were a lot of SWB trucks in the demo shots (and at the auto show)

Ok here's how it went down in my situation in southeast Missouri. Dealer said they are getting 4 Tacos in their initial shipment. He took down all the options I wanted and said he was able to request that 1 of those 4 be exactly what I want, and he would put my name against it. I didn't have to put any $ down yet but he said in about 2 weeks he'll know exact pricing and be able to give me the spec sheet on my truck. I imagine that's when I'll put $ down. He expects the trucks to actually arrive here the 1st week in October. Also I am the 2nd person to have came in and requested a 2016. So if anyone else is in my area, there are 2 more from the initial shipment that you can put your name on!

Not to be a buzz kill and excited for you guys to get your new tacos, but you're all going to be kicking yourself that you could have waited for the config you actually wanted and at a price/deal that's better once there market isn't so tight and they are sitting on dealer lots. As cool as it would be to have one of the first new tacos may be better to wait.

Has to be going West to East like someone said earlier because I called another dealership today and they still don't have any information. All exclusive Toyota dealers as well.

TRUECar homie. I know not all have access to it. I am lucky enough to have USAA which offers it free. I was told by a USAA rep it takes about 2-3 weeks once the pricing has been released for them to roll out their pricing. The trucks will take longer than that to get to the dealers.

Its a new model in high demand, I'm willing to bet trucar will reflect the fact people are paying MSRP or close to, sure invoice will be listed on there, but dosent mean if there is demand which there will be dealers will sell at invoice, so expect trucar to reflect that homie. Im a USAA member, not always the best deal, I have only used it once as an Airman. Demand will set the pricing in the end and expect an initial high demand and limited supply, basic economics.

People pay close to MSRP regardless of whether or not it is a new model.

I agree that they don't have to honor that pricing but I was offering that as an alternative to having to pay full MSRP, considering you stated everyone would be kicking themselves for not being able to cut a better deal. There will be ways to do it. Just gotta ask.

And besides homie, it's all relative. Your acceptable price for a vehicle might be different from someone else's. We talking 1-2 grand? Over the life of a loan that's 10 bucks a month.

True and that's what I alluded too, Toyotas in general aren't massively discounted, but in the end if you were to wait you would have more selection and save a few $$, but to some people they will pay more for the immediate and no problem with that either.

Like radchris said above, the wait for some has overtaken any sort of financial sense. I for one have waited too damn long for a Tacoma. However I still care about money so if they don't honor TRUECar pricing I simply won't purchase.

I predict folks will be paying at or close to MSRP for the entire 1st year. These trucks will be in such high demand so dealers will have no reason to offer discounts. If a guy passes on a deal because its not the price he wants, dealers know there will be someone else that will come along and pay that price. It's no skin off their back. So I'm fully expecting to pay for what I want. I can't wait any longer, especially not a year from now when the '17s get ready to come out. That's the only time the really good deals on the '16s will be offered
