I agree with that to an extent. Say someone orders a pretty specific model with pretty specific options and a manual transmission. They might have more of an issue selling that vehicle as opposed to another vehicle with an automatic transmission and less options. The price isn't negotiated before you order your vehicle. It's negotiated when it hits the dealers lot.

Not a huge fan of the desert sand. First of all I like metallic paint, I like how shiny it gets ^_^. Secondly, I really don't like tan no matter how cool it's meant to look. Although I will say this tan would look really nice on an off road/camping vehicle. I do wonder how hard it would be to paint match though. Gotta think about repairs down the road.
I know everything I want in the 16', the only thing left to decide is the color. I was initially set on the metallic grey but I have to see the trucks in person first. I'm not sure the new body style will appeal to me in the grey.
I want a color that matches nearly everything so it won't clash with any stickers I put on my truck or other mods I might do. So it's down to the grey or white for me. I own a white now and really like it. I can deck it out with my GB stuff when tailgating and it looks cool.

If you are picky on color, don't buy until you have seen it.

I agree. New Tacomas won't be discounted. All that much. Never were. Maybe $2000 for a leftover

This if you guys can get your dealers to do the same I would say "you're winning" for a first year release.

OP said "He could not give me a final MSRP, but said that they would take $1,000 off MSRP" Note, he doesn't even know what MSRP is. They could add all kinds of extra crap and fluff -- "but you gotta' get the rust proofing!!" -- and get their $1k back.

I am looking to trade my 15 TRD Sport 2WD for the same in a 16 except Off Road 2WD IF I can do it with no more than $5000 cash.

$4500 and my 14 with 19K bought me a 15 with Toyota running boards...

I won't be ready to buy a 16 or 17 for at least a year. I won't buy for MSRP and will not purchase any additional equipment, add-ons, or services. I will pay bottom dollar because I can wait. Maybe it will be a 17 when I finally get the backing to buy and find the right deal. I can wait

Is this after the $1k deposit that he made that will be taken off MSRP or before? Sounds like they'll just subtract his deposit from MSRP.

I think that's a pretty crappy deal. I'd laugh myself right off the lot at such an offer.
He better fight for better than that.

Isn't the last portion of that statement an oxymoron?

Why would you buy an off road in a 2WD?

You should likely expect to pay the same there the first 6 months its out. Limited supply and high demand. Tacomas/Toyotas in general are usually 1-3k off msrp. Let alone a new model that a ton of fanboys with big pockets are chomping at the bit to get.

You know, if everyone in the country just decided not to buy this thing unless it was at least $5k off MSRP then that's what we'd all get them for.

    Think about it...

Not necessarily, Toyota dosent mass discount as part of keeping high resale value, but yes demand also dictates price, but unfortunately people already shell out that much for the GM twins and slightly less for current 10 year old Tacoma platform. Doubt the selling price will be far off unfortunately.

You do know trucar pricing is based on the model year and the selling price in your area and input by dealers.
