I have an 08 Tacoma with OME dakars and Icons on the front. The shop who put it on said they aligned it properly and that I wouldn't need UCAs. However two years later and a set of severely cupped duratracs, I believe I now need them. I put a new set of Toyo Open country AT2s on the stock wheels and attempted to have it aligned. The tech said there is no more adjustment left and he suggested longer lower control arms. I knew immediately he meant upper. When you look at my truck from the front, you can see the top of the front wheels are sticking out. I believe this is camber (not a mechanic at all). Anyway, I don't do any serious off roading and just want a correct alignment. I found the tuff country UCAs for $375!! I know TC UCAs fix this, but after new tires and a shop bill I can't afford $785!! Will the tuff country's work ok to fix the alignment issues?

PS I did search the forum for this and could only find threads relating to full tuff country lifts.

LR UCA's are about the same price or less.

But all in all UCA's are just to look pretty and fix alignment not really any thing special.

as long as they are adjustable, sure. itll fix the alignment - as long as the alignment guy knows what you want out of the truck... i made the mistake of listening to a local offroad shops recommendation on what he liked. which were non adjustable procomp UCA's..... cuz it would save me some money and they are 'just as good as the others' - as he put it.

well, i went with that... truck wandered all over the road. 2 different alignments later, from different shops, truck still drove like crap.. with little fix after the second one. i took it to my guy that aligns my racecar - (didnt dawn on me that he dealt with trucks as well)... and he basically told me he couldnt do shit and to buy some new UCA's. while i am used to the setup (of driving like shit) i will eventually replace them with camburgs or TC. it sucks to have a nice truck drive in a way that appears i am intoxicated. wish i would have saved and purchased the better UCA's the first time.

For adjustability (and price), LR UCA's would probably be your best bet in fixing alignment issues.

The post above was talking about ProComp UCA's and not LR's. I've had LR's and had no issues with them.
