Love my 2.7 w/5 speed manual. Like stated previously, not a powerhouse but fun to wind out. I don't worry about the mpg. I didn't buy it for that reason.

I love my regular cab 4x4 4.7l (5 speed manual). I've never found it underpowered if I use the correct gear.

Like mine, just fine. Just moved from a 2010 4x4 AC 2.7 with 5 spd to 2015 4x4 AC 2.7 Auto --multiple knee operations have finally taken their toll. The 5spd was always plenty peppy for what I needed and just plain fun to drive. Still adjusting to the auto; it's just different.

Love mine, all the power I need and great mpg. Just completed a cross country road trip from Oregon to new Jersey and averaged - 28.6 miles/gal. through 10 measured legs.

worst leg- 22 mpg (through mountains, rpm just under 2000 to 3500)
best leg - 32 mpg (mostly downhill from mountains to central plains, rpm kept just under 2000)

Why is the 2.7 only available in a PreRunner or 5 lugger double cab? I wanted the 4 banger, drove a 4x4 AC 5 speed but I really needed the space. Seems to me if the 2.7 will move a DC pre runner around without issue, the few extra pounds for the 4wd system wouldn't be a big deal.

4x4 DC would be a low seller.

I had to search high and low for an MT access cab. It's supply and demand.

I do love mine! Best truck i could buy for a daily driver and it is great for hauling the thing I do have to. Mpg is great and the power too. I do enjoy driving the working f-250 and feel its power but i wouldn't want to trade my taco for it.

i love the 2.7, its simple its strong for a 4 cylinder, the 5 speed 4cyl combo feels pretty bomb proof. I'm never afraid to ring her out either. Ive put it through a great amount of abuse too, severely overloading the truck about once a month, wot pretty much at least once overtime i drive it, long 20 hour driving straight trips 2 times since I've owned it, its seen red line before, smoked the clutch pretty bad twice, yanked a heavy 2013 grand cherokee out of the sand up to its door sills, pull disabled vehicles around(up hills too) tow small boats and jet ski's(easily enough you can forget they're back there<another story>), off road it once a week, daily driven almost as hard as a taxi, and it always pleasantly ask's "whats next?" its NEVER ever not been able to do anything i ask it to.

all this talk of a new body style coming out once i saw pics of it i wanted to grab a last new truck while i still liked it. I test drove a v6. didn't like the 6 speed. ended up getting another 4banger. The access cab is heavier then the reg, you really can feel the difference. it concerned me slightly, but I'm getting used to it, I do want to turbo it not because I have an issue with power, because i <3 turbo's :) Fiance' says i can't fvck with my daily driver's engine, but she also said i couldn't eat 3 Geno's cheese steaks in one sitting and i showed her.
Im also being a little nicer to this truck, but I'm glad i know what its capable of :)

The 2.7 is ok, but I prefer a v6. Like a previous poster said, I have to floor it to merge or go up hills on the interstate. My rpms stay at 2000 for cruising and go up to 4000 when flooring it.

My only complaint with my 2.7 4x4 5 speed is that the only color options I could get were white, gray or silver, so not really an engine complaint but more a bitch about marketing packages. "You want that in truck in Key Lime Green? No problem! All ya gotta do is pony up the $$$ for the TRD-RAPTOR-HEMI-LIMITED-TOURING-SNAKE-FLAG version, and then that color is an available option, for a small additional fee . . . . .!"
