    Huh , interesting

Probably 2lb then , using it as an air barrier / vapour barrier and getting the rest of the R value with cellulose

That was exactly the intended result I was looking for. The spray foam seals all the cracks, gaps, etc., while still providing some R-value. Then the rest of the cavity was filled with the cellulose which gave the rest of the R-value. Estimated values were R-40 in the ceiling and R-24 in the walls.

It's super quiet in there now!!

I didn't see any protection plates where the wire and piping go thru the studs. Are you not concerned about a future nail going thru them or did you add them before installing the finish boards?

You don't have to use protection plates if the wires or pipes are not close to the stud surface , I can't recall the exact dimension offhand , at least that's how it is here

I guess it would depend on if it needs to be code compliant and if yes what code is it under. If I remember right is 1" for the UPC, 1.5" for the IRC and IPC. I don't remember the NEC.

I think 1.25" for the NEC.

    Yeah , 1" seems right

Going back through the pictures it all seems to be well back from the stud faces

FYI, The CEC requirement is anything under 32mm or 1.25".
Not sure about the requirements for the NEC in the states.

I love the cedar. Looks like things are coming along nicely.

Finally got the hole for the cistern finished:9c3a66ba8fde6f68f3043c2a1c840dd0_9fdd8bf85f39e2c4a8dfd495c58f1302c62aca02.jpg
12'-6" deep and approximately 8'-0" in diameter. Got most of it dug with backhoe but had to finish off with shovel and pry bar because I didn't have the reach with the backhoe.
