Aren't the 886s 620# ish just like Eibachs? Just longer I thought...

So is 2.5" not enough? You want a full 3?

if the 886's are longer and stiffer, the preload, even with billys on the lowest setting may help keep me level I have a full 3", it just started sagging a few weeks after I put the HWMS in the bumper. What would the advantage be of going with a 3" coil vs 2.5" and I'm assuming that is the coil diameter, or is that lift height?

No, it's the height achieved from the coil, not the diameter. I am running 5100s at the lowest setting (0") and OME 887 coils. It started at 3 full inches of lift but has since settled a little bit. I haven't measured, just noticed slightly more rake than before, which I am happy with. I'm very happy with my lift. I like the ride better than when it was stock, and the stance is perfect.

After rereading this, I think you should ditch the coils/spacers you currently have and go with the OME 887 coil springs. It would be a smoother ride than your current setup, but you would probably settle at slightly less than 3 full inches. I don't think the weight of the winch will really have much of an effect, if any.

Hit up the folks at headstrong offroad. I emailed Marie several times before making my purchase. She was very helpful and they have really good prices.

Can I ask a question: doing new 5100's all around on new 15 Taco with AAL progressive ordered from Toy tec. Also got the bigger shackles. I was planning on setting fronts
to highest setting to level me off with aal in back. Is there anything special I need to do? Having the dealership install this afternoon.

Not that I know of. Ride probably won't be superb with the billies maxed out like that, but I think you will be fine. Never heard of people changing their shackles except on first gens...did they come with the AAL?

No had to pay extra for them. as trying to get rid of the sag from my new boat hanging off the back as stock leafs dont do it justice. Anything else I can do to make the ride better along with the billies? Dont want to jack it any higher than what the aal is going to do.

On a side note, your truck looks awesome. I love those hidden winch mounts.

Getting new coil springs would be good...but since you're having it installed tomorrow, probably not. If you can delay the install for a week, order some OME 885 coils. Those give you 2.5 inches with the billies at 0. Plenty of people on here running the billies at 2.5" with stock coils though....yours is a sport it won't be as bad as someone with an OR. I've never driven a truck with the billies maxed, but I've read that some people weren't terribly happy with it.

I guess I might be paying twice for re-install of new coils and set at 0 setting. I will try them out and see what type of ride I get and report back on my findings. How much are the 885s? Now you have me thinking twice about it.....Mine is a sport yes.

Do you know how much more shop time it takes to install the 885's? Will it make that much of a difference? I tow alot and do alot of cross country trips. I think I would rather do it right and spend a few more bucks if it doesnt break my fun bank fund!

It won't take any more shop time to install new coils than it does to install 5100s on your stock coils. Both cases require the struts to be disassembled, coils compressed, and everything put back together and reinstalled into the truck.

    Yup.

@toyman2k If I were you, I'd call and reschedule the install. Order up some OME 885s from headstrong offroad then have it all installed. It will ride much better than the maxed out billies for less than $200 bucks more.

Ok haulted the install yet after calling Toy tec they said the OME 885s will work with 5100's yet will void any warrantys. So now told to set billies at 1.75 setting and install AAL progressive and remove factory overload and to try that as should keep me level and give me more load ability in the rear.

What are you current measurements from the center of your hubcap (hub) to the fenders, at both fronts and both rears?

Please measure and post back here with the numbers.

If that's true, then it's stupid. Installing new struts and leafs does not void the warranty but add coils and it does? Sounds like bullshit to me...I don't know though, my trucks not new...

He's saying the warranty on the 5100 and/or the 885s, as far as I could tell.

    Here are the numbers. LF - 20 RF - 20 1/4
    LR - 21 1/2 RR 22

He said it voids the Billies warranty and the OME coil warranty nothing touches my new truck warranty.

It's shitty advice anyway, because ToyTec doesn't know what your trucks measurements are (neither do we), and can't tell you that adding a 1.75" (approx.) lift height up front and a 1.5" (approx.) lift height in the rear will level your truck. For that matter, my 3 leaf AAL hasn't done anything noticeable for my load carrying. It keeps my load from sagging as far, because of the lift they provide, but I certainly don't have more carrying capacity unless you're solely measuring how many pounds of cargo it takes to hit bump stops.
