Pretty much. What that article fails to mention is that she'd already asked them to quiet the kid down, to take the kid outside, or to leave, and had offered to box their food up for them if they did go. It's not like she just all of a sudden blew up at them.

I don't understand the people that are ok with their kid having a meltdown in a public place like that. Granted, I don't have kids. But, when I was a kid my parents would have dragged me out of the restaurant LONG before they were asked to leave. And pretty much everyone I know has the same policy with their kids now. "Misbehaving? Time to go"
And if I DID have kids, I'd probably be the same way.

I agree Noel, my wife and I make a very good effort to keep the little one quiet and occupied if we go out to eat. If he's being a terror that day, we just hit a drive thru.

the only thing i try to be sympathetic about with screaming kids, is my friend's grandson is autistic. he's the sweetest little angel, but he has melt downs sometimes in public

Anyone with kids will tell you meltdowns in public are inevitable, even with the best of kids. There's no getting around it, it happens. It's all in how you deal with it as a parent. Just ignoring a kid and letting him scream and scream and scream is unacceptable in my opinion. I'm more sympathetic to a parent that's trying to calm their kid down, even if they are unsuccessful. At least they are trying to better the situation.

Hey shit happens, kids are gonna be kids.... That's where the parents need to step up. I love this lady I've been reading about this story all week. Her business her rules...

I totally agree with this, especially having a spouse with over 30 yrs in the mental health field.

That said..when I see/hear the stereotypical screaming brat who is allowed to keep it up, I always say to myself "this is why I have cats"

I just refuse to get another windows based computer lol. My macbook has been great until a dog made me spill water on the keyboard, now it works intermittently. But it's also like 7 years old.

That's what I've got, is just a cheap Toshiba I got on sale at Best Buy. It's two years old now and still works perfectly, so...:notsure:

Sold off my Raptor 3rd brake light because, with the cap, can't see it anyways and bought a kit to put 3 LEDs in the grille like the Raptor front end :D I want to see if I can find a way to divide up the cap's LED brake light so it has 3 that will function like a running light and the rest brake. Gotta tear into it to see how it's all wired together.

Picked up a bunch of old tools in from Craigslist the other day, got a bulk load of them for $35 from some guy that was clearing out his estate and moving to Florida. Included in the batch were a couple of old Disston handsaws and a couple of really nice (like, brand-spanking-new) old production Snow & Nealley axes. Plus there were a couple of old broadaxes, so I rigged up an electrolytic rust remover and have been going to town on them. Finally thought to document one of them yesterday.
How it started out (after I worked the old handle out of it)

After a couple of hours in the bath:

    After a 12-hour soak:

The rust is all flaked off, and just the layer of 'black rust' is left. And it comes off a LOT easier than the rust, without damaging the good steel underneath.

After a good going over with a Scotch Brite pad and a rag soaked in WD-40:

Ready for a rehandle, a sharpening, and it'll go back into service

Got a bunch of stuff that's going to go through the electrolysis process; a couple of old sledgehammers, a couple of double-headed axes, the handsaws I mentioned above (one of them's a big old 6-foot crosscut saw; I'm going to have to do that one in a 50 gallon drum, I think!), plus a bunch of garden tools like rakes, shovels, etc.

They're probably a unit, if I were to hazard a guess

I'm sure they're a unit, just need to figure out how easily that unit comes apart. Hell, the Tacoma headlights are a sealed unit but they pretty easily come apart and can be manipulated if one were so inclined.

I meant that the LED block itself is probably a unit. As in; the circuitry and diodes are probably molded into a solid block of plastic.

My wife's Toshiba is falling apart. It's only a few years old. One of the hinges is busted, the battery seems to have permanently died, and the charging port is failing.

To be fair, mine doesn't see much use. And it sits on my desk, it doesn't travel. :notsure:
