    I got the upper independent; lower dependent. Which means upper stays on with the dash board lights and when the switch is turned on, the bottom lights up. So what you're looking at is, both upper and lower will be lit up at all times.

    Worth it. Just put it on a credit card and pay $10/month. Haha. I love how they light up with the dash board lights. I couldn't do without the illuminated 4x4 switch too.
