Hammocks are much cooler than tents. Tents trap the heat in. Hammocks have a convection effect that pulls heat away from you.

I definitely agree with you here. It's just the thought of spending all day in this heat and humidity, to barely receive a break when the sun goes down. It's definitely sticky sleepin'.

Anyone looking at the eno, I recommend the doublenest. I have two, one for me and one for the wife. I've used the singlenest before and you don't have much room to move around. The doublenest is perfect for one person. Even though it's rated for two people it's uncomfortable being smooshed together.
Atlas straps are also a must

I agree. I love my doublenest and Atlas straps. Sometimes it isn't bad to be smooshed together though. ;)

I've got a grand double nest with Kammock straps. Just what they had at the local outdoor store, wish I could have gotten an ENO

My rear steel bumper has tail light gaurds, so have to adjust for that, and going to hopefully get some form of hook welded into end of pipe to be able to hook carbeaner to. After done make it so can mount my ENO tarp to truck to go over me

Anyone looking at ENO should look at any of the cottage vendors like DutchWare or Hennesy or WarBonnet. I got an ENO DoubleNest first just because that is what everyone has, but a longer hammock is seriously more comfortable. I have a NylonD from Dutchware and it is so much better than anything ENO makes and it weighs about half as much as a DoubleNest and was cheaper.

I like where you're going with this idea. Gave me the idea to mount one side of my eno to the rear bumper I'll have pretty soon and then the tarp to my roof rack, then just run the other sides to a tree

deadhed61 question, when you put the pipes in the bumper to hang your hammock, do they somehow lock in? Or do they not move really when hang the hammock (guess asking if they rotate when weight added?)

I cut the outer tubes at the same angle that they come out of the bumper at, and welded the inner tube to them. So the outer tubes sit flush with the bumpers respectively, and don't move a bit. I've had over 300 lbs in it with no issues. I can snap a pic if you want?

No lock needed . They are at about 45° so there's no need.
