I tested my dog in mine last weekend. Picked him up, rolled him over so I was cradling him in my arms, and climbed the ladder, a couple steps later he was in and i was able to get in. That said i have been thinking of a ramp up the front bumper and he could climb all the way up to the roof from there and into the side window, or sleep on the roof rack when i build it.

We usually have two dogs up there with us, my lab climbs up some of the rungs, trying to teach here how to go up all the way, but the husky isn't that talented he just gets lifted in. If it were up to me they'd sleep in the bed, but it keeps my girlfriend happy when they're up there

I think they are great to watch. Definitely more on the travel side of overlanding but that's ok with me. They are doing a good job of filming stuff that nobody else has managed to do yet. Do I wish they had more episodes like the final one of season 1, Yes. Is it better than watching most of the shows on normal TV, certainly.

People may talk crap about these but at least these guys actually get out there and explore/travel. That's more than I can say for most of their detractors. FYI if you've seen episode 2 of the new season there's a short bit about Canguro Racing (that's the team I'm a part of for the Baja 1000) Kinda cool to see the team get called out by Ted Moncure and the Toyota factory team.

Does anyone know if there is such thing as an AT or PCT or CDT but for off-road vehicles?
    upload_2015-7-23_18-26-48.jpgimages_6c7188d3eb29d5da86c8877d1f54a7e3004c1ca5.jpgimages_f5bad120e5e6587dcb915e354769ba46964a966c.jpg

As I was out exploring the other day, I was thinking how cool that would be to travel through different areas of the country that are not paved. Even if there were some places along the way that you had to hit pavement to refuel, maintenance, etc.

We did ours across NV last summer and it was a hoot. Just got to plan your route and execute.

    Ahh...yes.

    Don't ya think so @ERMB ? :D
Would be great! I think it is almost possible to hit very limited amounts of pavement out here, from the exploring I did last week.
Further north, I am sure more rugged.

On my trips into grizzly country I bring a 12 ga loaded with slugs. Come across lots of bears but never had to shoot one. If an arrow in the chest (mid-charge) made it run up a tree it didn't want you that bad.

You guy's with RTT how bad does it affect your MPG's DD'ing your truck?
I wanna get a RTT but I can't hang it off anything when not in use since my appt doesn't have a garage(college problems)
And it'd be mounted over my softtopper.
Really don't wanna drive around with an RTT sitting that far over my truck, mainly for MPG's.

i get about 13 city 15-16 freeway, but i think that's more the half ton of steel that i've added rather than the little bit of tent that sticks up over my roof
