I was at a red light the other day with only one car in front of me. The light turned green and the woman in the car in front of me did not go. I waited probably 6-10 seconds and then honked the horn. I didn't hold it down but a quick push trying to let her know that the light had changed. She got all bent out of shape. She looked back at the truck and threw her arms in the air and began yelling. I felt like a small honk was a polite reminder that we are driving here and to proceed through the green light. So what do ya'll do when someone in front of you won't go?

If she gets bent all out of shape, give her the move along arm motion to tell her to get going. At that point, you no longer have to be polite.

Would've done exactly what you did. When she got mad I would've held down the horn or gone around her.

Same thing. I think it'd be a fun situation for people with a train horn.

I always thought it would be cool to have reader board installed on the truck. You could honk and then "lights green" would appear on the reader board or if someone is going hecka slow it could read "gas pedal is in the right" or something like that. ..lol

I'll tap the horn. If that does nothing I'll lay on it and throw obscenities at them, then flip them off when I pass. If they follow me I call 911 and I'll go to a police station.

If I see them on the phone I already have my hand on the horn, cause I know they aren't going to see it when it changes.

    Too few to list.
I've gone through this scenario a few times. I do know that I don't wait 6-10 seconds as you did. I probably do a 3-4 second count then do a horn tap. I think tapping the horn once is being polite. If they get bent out of shape, I just give them a smile.

I do the same thing. I'll pay attention to what they're doing before I honk. If they're on their phone or looking down or something, I give it 2 seconds and let out a beep. If they're "looking" I'll give them about 4 seconds. No one has ever gotten bent outta shape though.

After 6+ second I'd be laying on the horn.

I don't really care if she wants to get all pissed.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You did the courteous thing then I would have laid on it. Note to self... look into train horns.

When the person ahead of you is on their phone and the lights red, give a quick honk. They will pull ahead a few feet into a red light before they realize the guy behind them must have been honking at someone they recognized going the other way. Always fun. People should pay attention.

Of course don't do it if there's traffic coming.
