Hey guys, just installed my spindles and put on some 285/70r17s trail grapplers. Got a little issue with rubbing on the cab mount. Got a master welder who said he can modify the cab mount for me, but I am hesitant to do that. Won't be off roading so that's not too much of an issue for me. I'm looking for advise on whether a spacer would fix my issue or not. ad47a1b3333a7ca0514e1dba79c43d8c_8d4900707235ce01a2cd128bb22182d476d2215f.jpgb053833f263c84f7ef77f298a5cbb23a_409a4ba4cf26d4c2f2862a39d7c514745e3523f1.jpgf8d27f2d0563cc168012399e15d7eb69_4f75bd1c541e3a08c7429ea9f228e98b6065fbfd.jpg
The bottom pic is full turn. Any suggestions?

Chop your cab mount. Shouldnt cost more than $150 and they carve it back almost right to the bushing

    X2 or go higher. :D
Looks like it's rubbing on the fender flare also, looks like it rubbed a hole in it. Trim the corners off those also.

Yeah that was the first pass at trimming. I cleared all the plastic now, just hitting that cab mount. I'll get it chopped just to make sure I don't have any issues with it. Haven't even taken her on the road with the new spindles yet. Don't want to tear my flares or bumper off if I hit a bump or something. Haha

I trimmed the whole inside corner off mine, don't have any pics though.
I think wheel spacers will make it worse cause they will push the wheels out more. If my thinking is right you'd rub sooner, like not getting to full lock before they rub.

Before you do anything align it! Make sure you use a high quality shop for the alignment. Do your tires have a C or E on them?

Ok I have some work to do on finishing putting Dakar leaf packs on in the back. I will alight when I'm all done everything. And I don't see a C or an E. Where would it be?

It should say somewhere the numbers are. It should be C or E rated tire?

here is your specs according to Nitto:

    LT285/70R17 E 121/118Q 205930 18.9 33.15 11.81

A "C" rated would have been:

    LT285/70R17 C 116/113Q 205450 18.9 32.99 11.50

Again align first then decide what you need to do. Be patient.

As you are aware the last two numbers are the critical numbers. Keep us informed how things progress as this is helpful for all going forward. Good luck!

Never really thought about it. I guess if you got a flat on the front you could put the spare on the rear & put the good rear wheel on the front. I know it's extra work but it's the only thing I can think of other than having a spare with a matching rim.

Man I am anxious to get this installed! It looks like its gonna be a couple of weeks before it happens. Still have some parts that need to come in, and I have to coordinate my schedule to work with the install. Looks like it will happen on a Saturday and Sunday. The dealership will mount the tires on the wheels then I will bring them home on that Monday. It will then go back to the dealer for the alignment same day.

I am trying to figure ahead what will go wrong?
