It's the core libraries that other Google applications depend on.

Is it going to make torque run less affective? I plan on just testing it out on on the Fire and upgrading to a galaxy before I can't return the fire

Without Google framework, there's no way to use Google Play, which is normally how you would get Torque. I don't know if Torque would install/run if you manually downloaded and installed the apk.

It does appear that you can install/run (sideload) apps onto the Fire HD. It also appears not all versions of the Fire HD can use bluetooth.

Use a wifi OBDII so you can connect that way if the fire doesn't have bluetooth.

Do they make wifi OBDII readers? I had a bluetooth one in my truck for a while with my tablet. It was pretty cool. Couldn't read trans temps though which was a disappointment

They do. iOS products use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to connect.

Without google framework apk files cannot run. It's not hard to get it running but to me they device isn't worth a shit IMO for android use.

    It has BT built in.

This has nothing to do with the OBDII reader. If there are no sensors, or the ECU doesn't read the senors and report them then you have to manually enter in the PID's to make it work. On 2nd Gen's I got it working, its different for different years. On first gens I have not found a way to do it.

I plugged the OBDII into my buddies high end Mercedes and all the sensors it could pull was amazing. Hook it up to my 2000 Civic and it pulls about 7 things you can read from the ECU.

So long story short, what you can read is dependent on the computer, not the OBDII adapter.

Yeah I know, over all I was sad that I couldbt monitor it on my truck because that was the main thing I wanted to see. My year doesnt have a sensor for it

From what I've been able to find, many APKs will run without Google's framework.

For some GM and Ford vehicles, you might need an adapter that can read CAN bus codes.

I've only seen a few apks work on the fire without the framework. Nit those apps were already shipped or could be installed on the fire HD like the ebook reader they use. Didn't really test it out much as the tablet just wasn't impressing me at all performance wise. I got cm11 to run on it and it was better buy still just slow.

My hp TouchPad is still my go to torque tablet.

Anyone have a stand for an Asus RT 66u type router? I bought one off craigslist that works great but it doesn't have a stand and I really could use it.

Not nearly that fast I bet. Sadly my mainboard didn't come with a M.2 slot. I'll have to look into PCIe adapters.
