    Wouldn't be a big deal. Just like driving around in a circle a bunch of times.

    Next time throw the smaller tire on the front. You can easily correct steering and it won't damage a diff.

    Yup, plugs and compressor mandatory along with a socket wrench and 10 and 12mm sockets. I can pretty much tear the whole truck apart with that. I carry the same thing except for the receiver with shackle.

    I keep the receiver and shackle in case I come across someone in a ditch. Learned that early on in Seattle. Driving in I came across a few motorists that were stuck and stopped to assist.

    The winch is there for that. I'd usually pull up ahead of them, help them clear their tires and attach the tow strap to a front recovery point on their vehicle to pull the out.

    We digress. You'll be fine but get it plugged soon. I plugged a BFG AT with 800 miles on it and it lasted until 60k and I decided to up a size. I wore that tire down to almost the wear indicator with no issues.

    While plug kits and a compressor are good ides, I'd much rather have a good spare, jack and lug wrench even if the spare was 2" smaller than the remaining 3.

    Plugs will only repair a small amount of punctures, most of which are slower leaks and often times drove on far too long when low or flat. Plugs are great for trail use, but on highways one doean't always know how long they have driven on a severely deflated tire. That alone can cause serious issues reinflating, let alone driving on again. You'd be amazed the amount of internal damage caused by driving on a flat or nearly flat tire for an extended period of time.

    I've seen tires with a similar look to the OP's only to pull out a 5" eyebolt with 2 3/8" nuts and a couple 1/2" diameter washers on the other side. A plug won't save you there.

    When I was a kid I recall someone saying two different tire sizes would destroy the rear (on a different car)... Some things just stick with you in your thoughts I guess. Nonetheless I pulled it out due to curiosity. Looks like a simple fix. I'm one to replace all four tires if one gets destroyed because you can't have 1 new tire and 3 old with 4wd (so I've been told.     Definently not, I just have goals and to drop a $1000 a year before you expect to (need new tires) is not pleasant. My diff was pretty hot when I got home as I had about 120 miles to go after I created this thread. Then again I assume it's usually pretty hot anyhow.

    Parasitic loss in the rear diff is around 13% (out of 20% typical driveline losses). So if the engine is putting out 80 hp in normal driving, the rear diff dissipates 10 hp as heat - that's about 7500W. So yes, the rear diff gets hot in normal driving.
