Gunmetal rims?

I've seen a few tacom as with stock wheels, but they're gunmetal grey. Is this factory or are people just painting them gunmetal? If so, should I pay someone to paint them or do it myself?

 

Might be plasti dip. I am thinking about doing mine.

Did mine by sanding the rims, putting on a coat of white primer, then using rim paint in a spray can. No probs so far. I think it looks good, and as long as you like the way your truck looks, nothin; else matters right?!?

I used spray wheel paint on mine. They need redone though.

 

im thinking of plastidipping mine, dipyourcar.com has some metallic anthracite grey that looks pretty good

 

I'd like to get them painted by a professional.

If you're handy, just do them yourself. It'll come out just as good as long as you do proper prep work. If you take it to a pro, expect to pay around $70 per wheel. At least that's what the local Maaco quoted me for mine.

That's a sweet writeup. I wonder if my wheels will hold the same. I have the 16in alloys. They have an odd texture.

 

I'm sure they'd hold up just fine. Just take your time with everything and you should be good to go.
