Looking for a 265/75/16 tire that is good in wet winter conditions. I'm on the West Coast, Vancouver Island to be specific - think Seattle weather conditions. I've spent days looking at various tires and reviews - which I know are subjective - so that's why I now find myself here. Most of my driving, in fact 99% of my driving is being done on pavement but I still want something that looks aggressive. I want my cake and eat it too.....lol

These are the tires I've been eye balling.

    Hankook Dynapro ATM RF-10
Cooper AT 3 - I think the ST Maxx is a little over kill
    General Grabber AT2
BFG AT KO2 - but I've read they are all round horrible
    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

ANY opinion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As an FYI I have 5100s with AAL on the rear so 265/75/16 won't be an issue. I've even thought of going to a 285 but some people have issues and some don't.

What you really need is a rib tread tire to shed water...I would think the Michelin LTX MS2 might be ideal, MS is multi-surface, NOT mud snow. It is rib tread and had good reviews and excellent milage. I am currently using the Cooper AT3 as a three season tire (studded snows for winter) and plan to go to the Michelin LTX MS2 when they wear out.

    Yeah.
Well, my opinion is that the best tires for you would be the Michelin LTX MS2. But they don't look very aggressive. Of they ones you listed, the Duratracs would be my choice. For me, it was between those and the Michelin LTX AT2, I went Michelin and am happy.

EDIT: LOL, 2 people also posted MS2 while I was writing this.

The Duratracs will be a terrible rain tire

    Yeah.
Agree, which is why I went with the Michelin AT2. Not as good as the MS2 in rain, but not as bad as the Duratrac.

Ugh. They don't make the MS in a 265/75/16.

I have 265/70/16 LTX MS2's and like them very much . Truck came with Dunlops , traded them after 100 miles , didn't like them at all .
Had Nokian WRG3's on my Dakota and they were great in the rain and snow

Get the LTX AT2 for a better look they are just as fine as the MS2 performance wise, I got the AT2 and are awesome on pavement, the MS2 may be a better wet weather tire ? not much better if any

KO2s all around horrible? I've not seen that. I've only had mine a month and haven't been able to try them in the rain yet. The original KO, yes, I would not buy that tire again.

Duratracs wet weather performance is horrible in my experience. I would spin those things all day in the rain... With my 22re.

Expect a dedicated street tire with proper water shedding abilities to outperform an aggressive AT tire in the rain. It is all about compromises.

Note the KO2 only comes in ultra heavy e-load (53lbs) for a 16" wheel in the size you are looking at. Going to 17s w/ 265/70R17 (same size tire) they are available in C load and weigh 45lbs.

It's been raining here a lot lately and the KO2 tires have been great for me. Certainly better than the stock Dunlop tires were. I don't know who has said they suck but that hasn't been my experience.

I've also found the Yokohama Geolander AT to be a very good all around tire. I almost went that route as that's what I had on my last truck, but decided to give the BFG a try. No regrets so far.

Thanks so much for everyone's help. I think I will go with the BFG KO2. I do want to have the option of exploring if the opportunity arises and I do like the look of a more aggressive tire. Not too concerned about gas mileage...I am driving a Tacoma after all. Besides, the 2014 Santa Fe sport I just happily traded in was getting an avg of 17mpg.

I'll add this on the Michelins, even though you've made your choice. I put them on my wife's 4Runner and they have been the best tire I have ever owned. They're quiet, have great traction in the rain and good traction in the snow.

If you have 2nd thoughts about BFG KO2 for your driving the MS2 can't be beat. Off roads well except in the extreme stuff.

while the MS2's were the best all around tire i have ever owned.... my current hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 P265/75R16's have been PHENOMINAL, and more oriented to off road which is why i got em. KO2's are cool lookin, but still similar tread pattern as the KO and WAY WAY to heavy for a tacoma.

If your looking for the best of both world get Michelin AT2 my truck rolls like a Cadillac with an AT look to boot. Don't get the BF KO2 they are designed for being exclusively an Off Road tire (can u say Baja 500) not an all around 99% highway daily driver tire and the weight will kill your gas mileage might as well bought a TundraV8 for better MPGs than putting a heavy ass Off road tire on our Tacoma, they might look cool but Chrome don't get you home.
