Anyone running 285/70/17 w/ 17x9 0 offset and 5" backspacing?

I have searched and searched and everyone seems to be running 4.5" backspacing with 17x9" wheels. Here is my setup: I have this lift http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Leveli...yota|Model:Tacoma&hash=item3a680ac3cc&vxp=mtr on a 14 DCLB TRD sport. Stock UCAs and 17x9 fuel krank 0 offset and 5" backspacing. I have found only one thread saying that they will work without rubbing the stock UCAs, but that was an 09 model truck. I know I will have to do some trimming and possibly a CMC but my question is will it rub the stock UCAs? Can anyone help here? I am currently running 265/70/17 and want to upgrade. thanks

 

Anyone? I guess I'll just order 0.5" wheel spacers to be safe since nobody is running a similar setup.

It's not the UCA that you should be worried about. It's the cab mount area. I have 17x9 with 0 offset and that's my only problem area.

265/70 but there is tons of clearance between the control arm and tire. I have an 05 TRD sport.

 

I am currently running 265/70/17 and need insight from people who have 285/70/17

 

That's 20mm wider. If you have 10mm clearance on either side than you're good to go. It's not a big jump in tire size.

I haven't had an alignment done on these new tires. I had an alignment done after the lift and 265/70/17 with rims mounted. I went one inch bigger in tire height and a lil bit more width. Do I need another alignment done?

 

Some people like to get alignments with a new set of tires for piece of mind. If I were you I'd get the SPC upper arms and THEN get it aligned PROPERLY. It will be a major improvement with the massive spacer lift you're using.

You'll be amazed how much better it rides/drives afterwards.

 

I see no need for new UCAs at this point. I'm not a heavy wheeler and I have plenty of clearance and it drives fine right now. I'm still wondering if I need another alignment done when I went up 1" in tire? It holds true on the highway. Guess I'll have to do more research to find my answer

 

Your alignment is definitely off. That would be the "need for new UCA's". It's not a clearance or an off-road issue. A new alignment is still going to net you a bad alignment on stock arms.

If you're ok with the way it drives than leave it.

 

im just concerned about treadware at the point. It drives fine for me. I will ask the shop to check the alignment and see where im at. I guess 0* Camber and 2.4* caster is where i want to be?

 

Leave it alone! Just rotate frequently.

Hey bowhunterRN, truck looks great. I’m thinking of getting the same wheel setup as yours, 285/70/17 w/ 17x9, 0 offset, 5” backspace wheel. Wondering if you used/needed to use the .5” spacer or is it good without?
