Couple of things I noticed. Manual park brake instead of the foot one. Also the lower rings on the front of the bed. I had to mod my 08.

I like the gauge cluster due its "double barreled" symmetry. It's always been my favorite style of cluster since my first vehicle, the '77 in my sig pic.

I think they started doing this in 2012. My 2011 doesn't have them, but I was pretty sure the newer ones did.

The idea that mechanical things don't break is beyond hilarious. Doesn't anyone else remember riding around in cars in the 80s when the crank windows would bind or the mechanism would get misaligned and the window wouldn't go all the way up? FFS, I'm only 32 and I remember that happening in my parents' and relatives' cars. Unless you are rolling around in a MKIV Volkswagen, power windows are rarely an issue.

My personal opinion on the interior is that it is a huge improvement all around. No more silly parking handle (annoying to use on the 2 1st gens and the 3 2nd gens I've driven). Styling is no longer from 2004. Less grays, more black in the palette. I like the 2nd gen exterior (particularly the latest iteration) but the interior has felt old for a long time. Hopefully materials have improved.

If you think about it, that's actually kinda brilliant. Full size trucks aren't all that much wider but they FEEL a ton bigger. Seems like Toyota is trying to get that same "feel" without actually increasing the width of the truck. Arbitrary numbers here, but if you take 1.5" of the thickness of the door panels you just increased the interior room by a full 3" without making the truck any wider.

I have broken hand crank windows, on my old F250...and every fricken VW I ever had...air cooled VW's are probably one of the simplest vehicles out there, and the vehicle I had to fuss with the most.

Over 300K on my poverty 1st gen with power windows...no issues.

I had to replace the hand crank regulator on my '88 Toyota Pickup. Wasn't hard to fix, but they do break occasionally.

Look at Mr. Fancypants with his round wheels. Just wait til one of those breaks, you're stranded, your oxen run off, and you die of dysentery. Old fashioned horse and saddle is way more reliable.
