What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Finally got it lifted. Did the lift with my mechanic friend and had the tires mounted at a local shop.

Still need to make some adjustments and trim/remove the mudflaps.

 

RGB bed lights with a little control box my buddy wired up to switch the colors independently

 

Looks awesome. How high did you go front and rear. That's the exact height that I'm looking for when I do mine (someday).

 

Now you just need to add the dancing girls!! Looks great.

 

Thanks! Roughly 2.5" all around but that may change. We installed the Toytec Ultimate kit with add-a-leafs for the rear. Also installed SPS UCAs.

Washed, clay barred, waxed, tires shined, and shined up all the black plastics. Wish I would have clay barred years ago. It really does make it feel like glass.

 

Swapped my black OEM tube steps for NFab step bars and hated the look of the silver pinch weld below the doors, so I painted them flat black. Much better...

 

Just about pegged the frustration meter today. I did the dome/map light mod to make the map lights come on with the dome light. Took me flipping forever to free the connector pins from the OEM connector, and then couldn't find another pin to match, so had to modify a weather-pack pin to work. Then it took me a while to figure out that nothing was working due to the polarity reversal and the use of LED bulbs. Anyway, mission accomplished and it looks like it's factory installed.

 

New AFE intake so the engine can make more noise.

Looks good! I've heard a lot about clay bar on here, where did you get it and how do you use it?

 

I just picked up a meguires clay bar kit at walmart and it comes with two bars of clay and a detailer spray to use as lube. Just spray the area and wipe with the clay back and forth or up and down motions only. This is after you wash it and dry it. Just work in small sections at a time. There are a lot of videos on youtube. After the clay bar I waxed it with meguires NXT wax.
