I had an '04 frontier (soon to be ex-wife wrecked) and lucked out and bought an '04 Texas Edition for 15K, with only 27k miles! Love the Taco ALOT more than the nissan. Go for it, you won't be sorry.

I believe its a snowbelt state issue. The letter I got mentioned buyback but the service writer told they pretty much they just swap frames if they are bad.

I did the steering bushings myself and didn't think it ws that hard and I am no ace wrench.

Mine does get an annoying dash rattle every now and then. I read it to be common over at TTORA though.

I never had any alignment issues after I did mine in the driveway. I think it was almost 6 months after until the alignment was checked.

So far south in Texas my feet are in salt water
    Vehicle:
    04 4X4 Tacoma SR5
3 in Ultimate ToyTec, set @ 2.5 in. AAL PINCH Weld Mod ( beat the pinch weld over inside the fender) Painted the pinch weld on bottom of cab Black Hi Lift Knock off
I bought an 04 Taco SR5 4X4 manual used 2 months ago with 67,000 on it. I love this truck. I have a brand new car that sits in the garage because I like to drive this used truck more.

The only problem I have had is the clutch pedal was not returning to the full up position without lifting up on the pedal every once in a while. Not an issue if you are running an Auto. I ended up replacing bushings in the clutch pedal and replacing the Clutch master cyl and slave.
