I'm still wating on the dealer for mine. I ended up copying one and a good friend at TRD helped me with the other.

I was on this thread constantly before even purchasing my truck. The availability of the supercharger was a huge factor for me even purchasing my Tacoma. Luckily I was able to find a dealer that had a supercharger to install. Paid $5950 for the supercharger and the install. :)

Ok I called Toyota dealership and they said I can't install supercharger due to computer chip was reprogrammed from the previous recall Toyota made... Is this true?

I believe that is true. I think I read that if you had the engine ping recall and had your ecu reflashed for the recall, you cannot have the reflash done that goes along with the supercharger install. .....you can always get a new ecu then get the s/c

They should replace your ECU for free. It's not your fault they had to recall it, so why should you have to pay the price to replace it? I would not be happy if they told me that.

He's not going for a repair, he's adding the SC. Thus not free. Too much 'wanna it free' talk in America.

And yea, Toyota fail. It's an ECU, filled with computer code. Should be able to reflash if they wanted to spend the money to develop the code etc. They don't want to. Maybe one reason the SC is going bye bye.

Where is everyone getting their superchargers from? All the local dealers say they can't get it anymore.

Do they have anymore? I'll be in IL in a month and I might just reserve it aka buy it and have them hold it.

When I left my deposit, I had to do it in person. No clue why...it was just their rule I guess. He told me it was the last one they had. Maybe a page or 2 back...on this thread someone posted a few in Cali and what dealers.

You better start getting on the phone and the web now. They are getting hard to find. Expect higher costs since they are scarce. On Ebay new full SC and fit kit only $8500, when you could get it 6 months ago free shipping for $4300. Not installed. That will run you $800 to $1500 at the dealership.

The back order list or a non-existing part isn't going to cut it. This late in the game you are going to need to call around and try to find the parts yourself. People posted in earlier pages of this thread where some are still available. That might be a good place to start.
