I saw. I'm scared. Not very many Anime have converted over to live action very well.

Death Note is the only one that I thought was done good.

 

Death Note was great, too true about live action anime tho, Nana was also well done . . .

 

Was it? I haven't seen it. Dragonball live action was so fucking bad on so many levels.

The new one? My wife was yelling at me to turn that shit off.

I rather enjoyed it, but I hated it at the same time. I might of seen that one 2 or 3 times. Now that you bring it up I might watch it since she's out of town till Thursday night.

In northern Iraq, where soldiers are battling the self-declared Islamic State, or ISIS, one fiery singer is on a mission to stir up patriotic sentiment.

Crimson-haired Iraqi performer Helly Luv has a recording contract in the U.S., but she didn’t want to shoot her latest video in Hollywood.

Her real name is Helan Abdulla. She was born in 1988 in Iran, as her family was escaping Saddam Hussein’s attacks on Kurds. They fled through Turkey, eventually settling in Finland.

Her track, called “Revolution,” is a tribute to the ethnically Kurdish soldiers known as peshmerga who are fighting against ISIS. So she took a video team to a front-line village, as bullets flew and battles raged.

Peshmerga officer Nawzad Saleh, said that in the days when the peshmerga were mountain-based rebel fighters, singers sang songs encouraging them to fight. "Now the Kurdish singers have begun singing for the peshmerga in other languages, and this is a beautiful step and will result in the world knowing more about who the peshmerga are," he said.

Peshmerga fighter Abdulrahman Ahmed agreed, saying such songs will encourage "the international community to sympathise and cooperate with us more, and support us with weapons to continue fighting these terrorists and eliminate them once and for all."

“Yeah!” she tells me. “We shot the video right there, and it was so crazy.”

The video features a bejeweled Helly Luv — herself Kurdish — dancing in a traditional peshmerga outfit, and in a tank firing a shell.

“Rise up, ‘cause we’re so much stronger as one,” she sings in English. “Breaking the silence as loud as a gun. Brothers and sisters, we all come from one. Different religions, we share the same blood.”
