The Tacoma doesn't have the best-in-class anything (other than reliability) but it will still lead the class.

This^ which is why the mpg's will likely match or slightly beat the GM Twins, Toyota knows they don't need to be best in everything, just keep the QDR/brand image, though that is starting to slip a bit in my book.

Why does it need to have the most power or towing ratings? Do you realize the capacity is only 200 lb less than Colorado? If you need to tow more than 6800 lbs, buy a full size. Do you also realize that the 25MPG Colorado is a dream? People are getting 20~MPG realistically. People buy the Tacoma for a reason (Usually QDR and reliability) and if your opinion does not align with theirs, then do not buy the truck.

Do you realize how foolish it is to look at nothing but a spec sheet and peak HP/TQ #s? The Tacoma is real world proven.

Can you explain why you think QDR is starting to slip? Does it have to do with the new facility in Mexico?

Its still hands down the best but as with most things in today's world less attention to detail, my 15 has a few quirks my 11 didn't have and my 11 a few my 08 didn't. I was more referencing the styling cues like gopro mount, orange bezel, etc.

I actually like the colormatched interior. Don't a lot of us do that ourselves anyway? As for the quirks, help me before I decided to sell my 2007... What were these quirks??

From the sound of things, they know they slipped a little and want to get back to a higher QDR.

Thats the message that I got. They also want to up the fuel economy which remains to be seen but it looks like they have done some improvements there too.

The bezel isn't color matched its orange no matter what the exterior is lol. Cheesy!!!!!!!

And for instance my door molds have plastic excess, my leafs squeaked from beginning, had the tailgate handle oxidize in 3 months (they replaced no ?s though).

You 2016 fan boys are crazy to think your new trucks we'll have better QDR, there will definately be growing pains, hell they've been making 2nd gens for this long and still quality seems to decrease each year. It's the world we live in, things aren't built the same as they used to be.

Well, I test drove a 15 DCSBOR tonight. Now, I hadn't actually driven a Tacoma since I was looking at them when I ordered my 07 JK. And I am currently driving a 11 Subaru WRX. That being said, I felt the 15 to be quite sluggish, like geared very low for off-road. Granted, this would be my first truck purchase, but it felt about as lethargic as my pop's Defender 90 (man).

Of course, the dealer put the hard sell on for the 15. However, they do have an inbound 16 DCSBOR with Nav tech pkg with an Aug build date. He said I could take it because it's not spoken for. It was silver, though and I gotta have white, maybe gray. He also would trade to get me a white 15 DC Pro but that didn't have Nav. Think I'm just gonna have to test drive a 16 when they hit to see if they have any more pep. If so, probably hold off for a Pro in late 16 or 17.

I dunno, those are kinda minor things. IMO

Perhaps, seems like they are addressing the things that need to be addressed. Time will tell.

So the 2016 Off Road build sheet I got from the dealer says LED lamps. Are those the headlamps?

The point is each year of my 2nd gens had more minor issues indicating a decrease in QDR. And they are addressing things but it's a news truck assembly issues and new design issues similar to 05 issues will happen I guarantee it. Its not a Mercedes Slr
