I would rather have paint chips than a bra, unless it was a clear bra.

Not a big fan of te bra... My 2009 came with a clear protective shield covering exactly the same area as the bra. Does anybody else have this on their 09 or is this something added from the local dealership?

Must have been added by the dealership, unless your 2009 was slightly used when you bought it and the previous owner did it. I was too cheap to pay to have the front of my hood done but I did have the sides of the truck done because my tires stick out and sling stuff. 6 months and 5,400 miles and no chips anywhere yet, including the hood.

Yeah, the truck was new with only 22 miles on it.. This clear strip looks exactly like the strips they put behind the wheels on the fenderwells to protect from flying debri off of the tires, etc..
    Thanks for the reply..

I checked out the 3M 'clear bra' stuff. As much as it costs, and as often as they say it will need to be replaced, it will be cheaper to repaint the truck when the paint gets bad.

If the truck was black or at least the grill/headlights were black AND there were no ears on that OP pic it'd be alright since it'd be easy to remove to wash the truck and bra piece to keep it from screwing up the paint. And it won't, if you keep it clean & you park in garage or shaded area most of the time. Beats chippy freckle face look. I'm just stickin with the deflector tho.

    Hell no.
Those are air dams designed to keep the front end firmly planted on the pavement at high speeds. They are sold in gas stations everywhere.
