Yeah, all the pictures with steel wheels are the 235s. If you're going to lift it, I'd wait, lift it first, then get 255s. I think the proportions are a lot better. If you're not gonna lift it, 235s might be the way to go.

Great photos and nice truck!
I wish I could snap pics like that, slowly learning to use my t3i as is before I spend some money on better equipment.

    Thanks! You can do great things with a t3i - I started out with a t2i about 5 years ago. Invest in lenses - start with a 50mm f/1.8 - they're only ~$100

Nice. Yeah, I'd got with the 255s. I think it just looks better on Tacomas. 255s are a little taller than 33" and the 235s are just under 32"

Wonderful photography and one hell of a build. I've got the base model silver streak as well. Mine's a V6 though. I'm a photographer myself & use a Nikon D80 - want to upgrade soon.

No problem! I know you're a Canon guy but do you know what the Nikon equivalent setup (camera and lens) of what you used for these photos would be? They are brilliant. I love the sharpness.

Whatever is full frame - yeah, probably the D800. The earlier photos of the wheels were taken with my Sony a7s with an 85mm f/1.4 lens, and those recent photos offroad were taken on a Canon 5D mkIII with a 16-35 f/2.8 lens.

Thanks for the info! I'll check out the lens, I have been wanting to upgrade my lens and was looking at the canon 17-40 f/4L but the price turned me off, funny how the lens cost more than the body haha.

btw, digging those 3 shots u just posted! They look so good!

Thanks man. I actually just sold my 17-40. I bought it used on ebay for about $550 and it was great. Lenses are definitely expensive, but they really hold their value. I sold mine 5 years later, for $500. ha

More great pics! I wish I was a shutter bug. I have zero photo skills!

Anyways, you planning on tinting your windows at all?

I just took delivery of mine and am getting some tint put on next Monday.

    Thanks!

Nice. I remember when mine looked just like that. I think I'll tint it eventually - but that's down on my list of mods. What percentage are you thinking?

Going 20% all the way around. With a 5% strip on the top of the windshield.

Hoping to score some 235s soon. Local Discount Tire has some BFGs A/Ts but they want to much for then. Might check the local Cooper guy for the ones you have.

    Another question for you,

I noticed your mud flaps are removed and they were off when you had the 235s, pre-lift.

    Why did you remove them?
I had a local tire place really trying to sell me a 265 instead of the 235 saying the 235s would rub the fronts real bad.
I have researched a lot on this and can't find much concrete info about a 235 rubbing on stock wheels and stock susp.

    Your thoughts.

good looking 4 banger! nice to see someone else who has gone with the access cab 4cyl. I went with the manual on mine. Any power/mpg loss with those 255s? still on stock gearing? i've been holding off pulling the trigger on them until my current ones burn out before the winter. Do
