    Would have loved to pop it through the bed, but camper shell killed that solution. Should just convert it to propane and screw the gas tank/filler neck/gas door bs. Is that even possible with these trucks for smog reasons?

    I've got those too, I used to have a dmv guy who would smog exempt cars, but that's long gone and the others have doubled in price. Word is the state wants to take over smog so they are making it tougher on shops

    Not a fucking chance. So are you doing a fuel door in the glass or just the neck in the wheel well?

    Stock bed sides. Ditching the inside of the door, but still running the neck in stock ish location. Owner is trimming the bed sides and making fiberglass flairs. With a full time camper shell it kills the fiberglass bed side solution.

    Not at all ive built setups to run a camper shells on glass. Just have to build a small internal structure under the top of the bedsides and mount the shell to that. I built my tundra to be able to run a shell. It's got 1" .120 under the top of the glass.

    i pass out in az with my fuel cell. i know @tubbsisland does too. and his truck is full race truck haha.

    This shell hangs over the bed sides about an inch. Does not mount flat to the bed rail. It's just this style of shell. Was a factory option. I think it's, a Leer or a snug top or something. Can't remember. Nice shell, just not my bag, baby.

    Why ? It is a very nice Snugtop, the one with frameless windows but it overlaps / form fits the OE bed sides. There is no need to run glass on this truck, it only has a +2 kit up front and OE rear axle so the track width just doesn't need wide flared glass.

    I wish I could go to a fuel cell so I could put my shocks on the front of the axle rather than the rear. My smog place in San Marcos told me that even if I keep all the emissions equipment, they would fail me for having a fuel cell. Having a purpose built pre-runner that is also fully street legal/passes smog is a balancing act. My truck passes smog straight up but only because I compromised and went shorty headers, kept all my cats, and kept the stock fuel tank.

    The only thing I miss about my old ranger is that I put a bronco 2 fuel tank in it and kept it smog legal. It used the stock ranger pump assembly, the stock fill neck hooked up with no mods, and it was a metal tank instead of plastic that fit perfectly at the back of the frame between the rails.

    All the evap equipment is gone on my Tacoma and it has a cell. No chance of it passing haha

    Do you trailer your truck out to the desert or just roll the dice and drive it on the freeway anyway? If only I had a tow rig. I would have links, a fuel cell, and green sticker registration.

    I've got plates on my truck for now. We'll see what happens when I have to smog it in 18 months. It's not my daily driver, but I do occasionally drive it to work or on errands around town.

    I find it odd that Jordan returned the set we built for him, and then DTF comes out with these shortly after. He told us that the reason he was returning them was because "they didn't fit" but we weren't told in any detail as to why or in what way. Trust me I was pretty concerned as to the issue, as I take extreme pride in what we build, and I think our track record and races won proves that. Kinda makes sense now though since DTF was doing the full build on that truck so naturally they wanted their motor mounts on it, which is what we pretty much figured out on our own at the time.

    Of course like any good business we issued a quick refund to Jordan. However, since ours "didn't fit" on his truck(which were jigged from a brand new set of mounts and test fitted on a straight truck), and DTF made a set for his truck that did fit, that logic would lead me to assume that DTF's jig made off of Jordan's factory mounts/frame bolt hole locations would now produce a set of mounts that will not fit on a straight truck without some tweaking.

    And those mounts that DTF "couldn't" install onto Jordan's truck, we checked in our jig, found them to be within spec, and sold to another customer a week later who installed them into his truck in his driveway in 4 hours by himself fyi...Just wanted to clear that up for people that may read this thread and think that our parts don't fit.

    Obviously as stated, these things are not rocket science...there are multiple ways to connect A-B. It's the original R&D and basic design that takes the time and critical thinking, not to mention over 15 years of testing in the desert and races, which we have. The problem with Toyota motor mounts is the rubber isolator and through bolt. Those are what break and bend, causing the eventual catastrophe. You can build a motor mount with more plate/support/gusseting then ours, which is fine and doesn't hurt anything, but in reality you are still always held to the frame and block with a few 12mm bolts that need to stay tight.

    DTF - the mounts look great, nice welds, good luck with the selling.
