I was reading another thread showing how to do the install and you said that you use a piece of PVC and a block of wood to install this dust seal. Take a look at the pic I attached... is this where I should be putting the PVC pipe. I may be over thinking it, I just don't want to mess the seal up during install.

you will want to hit the outside diameter of the seal, lightly, with a block of wood and hammer. even stroked, moving around the seal until the entire seal is flush. easier than it looks.

You can fit, I believe a 3" piece of PVC pipe, but have never tried. I have always had great luck with a 2x4 piece of wood & rubber mallet.

If you lock the front diff and then jack up one side of the truck, will this keep the hub from spinning while removing the axle nut? Also, if the front diff is locked, can you still remove the CV shaft?

If you lock the diff you can have both tires off the ground. Otherwise just engage 4x4 and leave one tire on the ground.

Yes, the CV can still be removed while in 4x4.

That is correct. An impact gun will take that 35mm nut off.

Just be sure to torque the 35mm nut to 173 ft/lb's PLEASE :)

    Tie-rod end-to-steering knucle (1): 67 ft-lbs (4WD & Pre-runner)
    bearing hub assembly bolts (4): 59 ft-lbs
    Axle nut (1): 173 ft-lbs

I installed my passenger side wheel bearing today. I purchased two bearings assemblies, but I'm waiting on my ECGS bushing to come in so I can install the bushing while I'm replacing the driver side bearing.

My 06 Tacoma has never really been quite since I installed the lift and tires, but I started hearing a low roaring sound that seemed to be coming from my passenger side front wheel a couple months ago. It would get louder the faster I was driving. My brake pedal was also pulsing when I stepped on the brakes. I've always done my brakes my self and had my rotors turned or replaced, so I was confused why my brakes felt weird.

I'm fairly handy with a wrench, but replacing the wheel hub/bearing assembly and CV dust seal took me about 3.5 hours. I was drinking beer and not in a rush, but it still took a while. I had two things that probably added an extra hour to my install: Separating my tie-rod end and putting the axle hub cap back on. I have a 3 jaw puller, but it was to big to use on the tie rod end. Finally, a block of wood and hammer did the job. My hub cap had never been removed and I could not see any damage after removing it, but I must have tweaked it out of round a bit. I ended up putting a little grease around the rim of cap and finally got it to go back in.

Good news is, my roaring sound is gone and my brakes feel better. I forgot to check if my tire had any play in it before I changed every thing out and when I removed the old bearing it was really clean and felt smooth while turning it by hand. This had me worried that the new bearing was not going to fix the problem, but thankfully it did the job.

Also, OP does one hell of job packaging these wheel hub/bearing assemblies. My box came with a ton of bubble rap in it.
