I haven't gone through all 8 pages, just some thoughts.

With double-sided tape along the mount, won't the cut out letters now expose the tape attracting all kinds of dirt?
Why not aluminum instead of steel?
Finally, I was looking around for reviews on that light. About 25% of Amazon buyers gave one star, and had it go out on them.

I like the idea of the mount, however I hope the light doesn't become a problem for you since you're supplying it. That profit margin may not be worth it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll address them one at a time.

The tape was only going to be on the ends where there was no cut-out, but now it looks like tape is not on option. The plastic in our trucks has plasticizers that make it like teflon to tape. I can't get a reliable enough bond, so the mount will now be held on with four self tapping screws.

The only advantage aluminum has over steel is lighter weight. Since that isn't an issue with this product, I'd rather go with steel. My plasma table cuts steel much better than aluminum.

People are more likely to write a review on Amazon if they've had a problem, not when things go perfectly. Still the reviews are mostly positive. If there are problems with the light, I'll take care of them ASAP and my supplier will ultimately refund me.

I'm bumping the thickness of the mount from 14 gauge up to 11 gauge (1/8" thick).

14 gauge was just a little too light.

    Here is the new mount....

Thicker steel and screw holes added.

I ordered stainless steel self tappers to go with them. The screws are 3/8" long. Just long enough to penetrate the plastic and hold. I didn't want them too long to avoid the potential of them hitting something behind the area wherever it's mounted.

What about those rediculously strong outdoor mounting tape that 3M makes? Or is all tape a no go?

The stuff I tried is actually stronger than the outside stuff. Nothing sticks reliably to this plastic.

Well that is unfortunate... I guess screws it is... Once I order one from you, I have some stuff around the house I will try before throwing the screws in. just for shits and giggles.

Give it a try, you never know...

My biggest concern is reliability. It has to hold strong in cold temps, hot temps, and everything in between.

I mistakenly thought that the Tacoma plastic was the same as the plastic in my old FJ. The 3M outdoor tape held incredibly on the FJ dashboard, but in the Taco, even 3M VHB won't hold. It won't really stick at all.

I tried cleaning the area with soap & water, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol. Still couldn't get it to stick. It's the plasticizers. They're the culprits.

Haha, no. Just checking battery voltage to make sure they're consistent.
