I guess it doesnt look bad with a lift and bigger tires. But I just don't like how its so Car-like. Or the front end. Idk, if I were going Chevy, I'd just get a 1500.

Lol I've seen it. I'd still take the 2016 Tacoma over the 2016 Colorado though.

As ugly as they are, to me at least, at least they are trying what no one else will. Tacoma & Jeep owners would love to see a diesel. Maybe they will get the ball rolling.

Ya, Chev is on the move, but I hear a lot of rumors surrounding the Toyota Tacoma for 2017, the 2016 just might be the shortest lived "Generation" ever, (not sure what triggered that in the first place) It may be the 2017 will be the Generation 4, or the Generation 3 just might be omitted. Congrats to Chev for making the leap! jmop

Competition is a good thing, keeps things from getting stagnant like it has been for the past 10+ years.

Wait, people really bashed it for the tail gate lowering in a controlled fashion automatically? Have none of you ever used your truck beds for their intended purpose? Trying to lower your tail gate without slamming it, arms full, is like trying to unlock your front door juggling bags of groceries. Some of you guys are idiots. I put the DeeZee tail gate assist on my Ecodiesel, best thing on that POS.

The Chevy version is meh, but the GMC offering takes heaping loose stool shits all over every year of Tacoma in terms of appearance. Some day this will be universally accepted.

Last point, "only 700 lbs more towing capacity? lulzz" = you don't get it. If this thing rakes in 30 mpg unloaded, and (undoubtedly) better fuel economy while towing vs gas offerings, is it impossible to see how that would appeal to someone? I think this truck with the 2.8L duramax would be great for the countless trades and activities that involve dragging <=5k lbs.

All that aside, I won't buy it. One modern day diesel has been enough for me, and until you own one and really read in to what makes them tick to the appeasement of the EPA boner, you won't get it. Just like you won't get the tail gate thing.

The Colorado looks retarded and off balance. I almost requires a leveling kit. It's like the engeneers did LSD on suspension day.

Everything else seems fine except for the price. Its too high for American.

I liked the older Colorados that came in electric yellow. But those were a bit too small. Glad they made it bigger.

Actually, his post makes perfect sense. The argument that an EZ down tailgate is a bad thing is like the fool in the other thread who argued that things like power windows and other tech were "just another thing to break".

And for those who look at the tow ratings and see "only 700 lbs more towing capacity" it's clear they simply don't get it. It's not about the engine power or torque; it's about the chassis's (boy that's a weird word) ability to CONTROL a heavy load. The diesel version of the GM twins will have 4 wheel disk brakes, engine brake, and a brake balance system.
