Well guys, I appreciate the help in my other thread about putting a supercharger in my truck.. but I recently visited Boost Performance in amarillo (they are by far the best in the panhandle of texas), and was told that I could do much better than the TRD and URD parts. These guys have built up some amazing vehicles, and Im going to take their word for it. But at the same time, Im going to trust the tacoma gurus on here.

Anyways... what is the most powerful supercharger I would be able to put into my truck that you guys know of? Any other mods that I will need to add to support it and make the most of it arent a problem. Im just looking for the biggest and best :)

Not what I was told... Ive done quite a bit of research, and so far it seems like a supercharger is less efficient but provides a broader powerband without lag. Also, isnt a supercharger a shit ton easier to tune and install? Im just looking for every day driving and the best way to improve my quarter time.

You're asking for the world. The world's response is always "What's your budget?"

The shop that build my truck has turned out cars with 3500 hp. That's not a typo. Three thousand five hundred horsepower and a chassis capable of making it hook. That's insane, and that's not cheap.

Start with your budget and go from there.

There's always a budget. If you say $50k, that's a budget. If you say $100k, that's a budget. That will directly determine what's possible. Give a ballpark.

Oh, and they've turned out a few 1000+ hp street-legal cars. Anything is possible. Difficult just costs more.

How much breakage and/or downtime are you willing to tolerate? With insane power comes massive maintenance and breakage no matter how much you overbuild.

Either get the TRD s/c or URD. I prefer the trd over the urd. The urd setup basically puts the engine at its limit with the amount of boost it can handle without upgrading the internals.

the most hp I saw-- URD stage 3. Not cheap and require some (serious) modification to the transmission. I am pretty sure some guy's can pull more out of this engines. But at what price (longevity)???. If this is still not enough??? Try standard cab Tundra with a supercharger. Over 500 hp. Hope you can afford the gas. God bless you if you can afford it.

I'm pretty sure URD can turn over 400hp with the right tuning. Gadget really needs to jump into this thread to provide some first-hand information.

I'd think anything over that and you're looking at a new/different engine/transmission/rear axle/suspension to adequately handle the power.

you dont really have to worry about lag in our trucks, we only have a 5500 rpm redline unless you go with the APR X1, which I would, and then you can rev to 6400. Its going to be a great addition to the truck in terms of tuning and drive ability.

If your going to spend that much money, you should just buy a Tundra V8.

I will buy a tundra after the tacoma is where I want it :). I've been in love with toyota trucks since I was in the womb heh.

EDIT: Actually, I'll just buy my dads. Will get pics later when we meet up at the gym.

I PM'ed Gadget. I imagine he's seen more than most anybody when it comes to milking power from these trucks so we'll see what he's got to say when he's online.

if your budget is 30k for performance for the truck, then first thing i would do is pull the 1gr out and go 2jz, or LSx.

It happens. Some people step in it at an early age.

I know what I have into my truck and get asked the same question, although I have a few years on him. I got financially lucky twice and invested in life experiences. Can't fault him if he's got the means.
