While It appears that TW has the answers for everything, this one I searched to no avail. I am going to be doing a spindle swap out on mine tomorrow and figure that it would probably be a good idea to go but a quick racheting combo wrench due to the narrow space available to remove all 4 of the bolts. Does anyone know offhand what size the bolts are for the hub bearing assembly? 17mm? 19mm?

17mm just did mine last night. Grab a 17mm crows foot for your torque wrench too.

I also found it easier to use the open end of the wrench anyways...

Thanks for the quick reply dude! A crows foot for the torque wrench? Is it really necessary to torque those to a spec? They just hold the hub bearing in place.

Would a combo rachet wrench not fit in there?

I torque spec just about everything...

Combo ratchet will fit but only good for about 1/2 the thread length since the head of the bolt gets butted up against the hub when fully loosened.

Ahh ok. I getcha. I'll get a combo regardless and just switch to the open end when I am close to the limit of not being able to pull out the wrench. Then just continue manually.

I torque spec nothing, lmao. Just German torque spec. Guttentite. :D

Unless it's a critical piece. Like engine parts.

173 ft/lb on the axle nut. That one is important.

Yeah that ones pretty intense for torque value. I know that one is pretty important for sure. Do you feel a little better jow that your spindles are braced better?

Never really bothered me before. Don't do a lot of high impact wheeling.

They haven't me either, and that's that I do, but I have shocks galore in the front so I think that has been helping me a lot. Lol. Thanks for chiming in dude. Pismo trip and the shock tower brace mod is in two weeks! I'm excited!
