EW. Fuck that right in its face.

Making the carpet in every truck black is a copout and i hate it. Tan and grey should always be an option.

You guys nailed it, there is absolutely no reason why Power Seats could not at least be an option, Toyota dropped the ball big time on Power Seats.

Good luck with your power seat crusade. Unfortunately, those of you who are very passionate about this issue are the minority. I don't think power seats are important to the primary demographic of this vehicle. More importantly the market dynamics don't support them. From the interviews it seems like Toyota plans to sell every Tacoma they build in the current no-power-seat configuration. They already dumped the regular cab. Now they're dumping the 5lug chassis in an effort to boost production.

The reason why the Yaris has power seats and the Tacoma doesn't is because every company makes an equivalent Yaris. There is a lot of competition so they have to include these "little" features to help push sales. I don't imagine they are at maximum capacity on the Yaris.

The reason why it isn't an even an option is again, maximum capacity. Adding a power seat option is another configuration to insert into their assembly process that will reduce production. The production loss will not be offset by the increase in price for that option, otherwise they would do it. You may get your wish if the Canyon/Colorado (and the others) take a bite out sales and total Tacoma sales volume drops well below 150K/yr (sans another giant recession). Until then, don't take it so personally that Toyota is happily selling all of them without that option. And not just selling all of them, but selling all of them without any incentives like factory cash back or financing deals.

I agree that it is a convenient feature to have. In this market segment it's a feature that is unimportant to most buyers (including me).

    Power seats?
Forget it, I prefer manuals ones. One less electrical thing to worry about.

My 94 power seat still works perfect to this day and when I pull the lever to drop it forward it snaps back into the exact same spot. Toyota power seats are not an issue.

That's why people on here are saying it should at least be an OPTION. You probably wouldn't buy the Tacoma with the package that includes power seats but the 75 year old man with a 2015 DCSBTRDOR that cruises by my work would have bought it for sure. Aren't you glad Honda gave you an OPTION of buying a Civic with some actual power instead of the 1.8L? Some people might say that K series is useless, the same way you think power seats are.

Ehh power seats, who needs them? Power windows, who needs those either. Same goes with digital head units, keyless entry, power mirrors, along with the other numerous electric and digital parts that have replaced mechanical systems. It's all just another thing to break (sarcasm btw).

I agree with what you're saying. Actually I'll take it one step further and say that it should not only be an option but it should be STANDARD. There is absolutely no reason that in 2016 you don't have power seats in a $30K plus vehicle. It's industry standard. If you want to keep manual seats in the contractor/work or SR trim levels then fine but anything SR5 and above should have power seats.

Toyota will still sell the crap out of these vehicles simply because the alternative is a GMC/Chevy and I don't think people are ready to trust them in this segment just yet. But anyone who is saying that Toyota does not include power seats because the market does not demand them is fooling themselves. Toyota doesn't do it because they know they are still king in this segment and can get away with it and still sell boat loads. Just like they are getting away with using the same exact cab as the 2nd gen and the same drum brakes. They're pulling wool over the sheep's eyes, simple as that. Not only that but the MSRP is even more for similar trim levels as the 2nd gens. I, for one, would like to see Ford introduce the global Ranger here and that Nissan brings the Navara here as well. Then people would see how Toyota is short changing its consumers.

Yeah a little wake up call would be great for Toyota customers... How about the Global Ranger with a baby diesel from the Ford Vans already sold here... I Know the New Ridgeline isn't going to be full frame, but it will be interesting to see what Honda brings to the party (Honda can handle in the engineering challenge of height adjustable seats)... New Frontier with baby Cummins diesel??? The competition could raise the 3rd gen Tacoma to near Yaris standards...

It is not a crusade, it is just pointing out something that Toyota should/could have offered but chose not to.

Who is the Primary Demographic? I am 56 and know that in my demographic Power Seats are something that most guys would take if offered. On long drives it is nice to just tap the buttons to change seating positions.

You forgot the Frontier which has power seats, true, let's hope the Canyon and Colorado hammer Toyota so they wake up from their "They will buy what ever we give them attitude".

I don't know about that, maybe it's a feature that is unimportant to "some buyers" is more accurate - who knows for sure...

Anyone hear if the leather seats are real leather or leatherette?

IMHO its just stupid to offer things like a sunroof and leather and then put in manual seats.

Hopefully its just a prototype thing.

I can live w/o power seats (much rather have them). What I would rather have most of all is ALL POWER WINDOWS / UP & DOWN POWER ON ALL WINDOWS!!!!!!! And a way (like most Toyotas) to set the Door Lock System when going into PARK and Drive......

If moving the seat back one or two notches when you wear your sneakers is really that big of an inconvenience for you, you shouldn't be driving a Tacoma anyways...

My Honda van's power seat controller board has failed. Now the seat is stuck too close to the steering wheel for me, but perfect for my wife. The van's too old to have it fixed. I'm just waiting for the new Taco, and only wished it had a height adjustment for my wife to raise the seat.. otherwise, I'll set it and forget it. Power seats would be nice, especially at the price of the Limited.
