what stretch of road did you drive on? It was most likely blown up tractor trailer tires... they are retreads and blow apart all the time

Rob I picked up a nail about 30 miles after leaving the house last week. Made it all the way to rausch wheeled and made it home, it's still in my tire! Holding air no leaks. I have a repair kit in truck, not so worried if I was able to air down and still make it back to ct and to work all week. Those people either had re-treads or drove through a box of nails

I am running wrangler duratracs. Nothing to worry about here. They have over 45k on them as they sit and will more than likely get at least another 20k miles out of them.

Ha! Yea right. Count your lucky stars you've got that many. My old duratracs were the worst tire I've ever had. Stock bridge stones included.

 

Btw I'm glad you all had a good time. I'm so pissed I had to work. Let's try to get a trip in the fall.

 

The duratracs I have are and LT tire, the fj came with a simple passenger tire. And do to the weight of the fj 4700-5500gvw the lt tire hardly wears. Rotated religiously every 5k, I've had great luck. Taking them off as use for spares I'm going to 33" BFG mud terrains this winter

 

just watch those side walls. they don't like rocks. km2's would be a better tire for sure.
