Gonna go look and test drive a few next month. All my credit cards will be paid off except for one, truck is almost paid off, and I got a pretty decent project(work) starting soon.
What better time than to buy one right? If they are asking $25 , I could probably get it down to $22k which is easily affordable.

Lol! No no no. The tundra is not gonna get used or abused really. I can use my dads truck if I need a mobile welding rig. And my taco to go off road. The tundra is gonna be my daily and tow pig. No cab mount chopping or fender cutting

I can see you driving down the road wearing a dirty welders hat, stained wife beater, beer in one hand steering wheel in the other, all with redneck pinstripes* down the side of the truck.

*redneck pinstripes: fresh and dried tobacco spit from merely turning the head while the driving with the window down and spitting.

Congrats. Gonna be dealing with a lot of irate people, morons, and depending on where you go, non- English speaking contractors.

Austin has (had?) a really awesome station: 101.5 X. Miss that station a lot. Here on the coast I like 89.7 The Gulf Coast Rocker out of ACC and if I'm lucky I'll pick up Big Dog out of Beaumont-Port Arthur. Don't recall the frequency of the latter at the moment.

FM 2004 is a nice road to drive. Deadly though.

Friendly advice: Spend money you have, not will have.

Learned that lesson the hard way very early on and never made that mistake again.

I had no idea HD Radio was still around. I remember when it was first released and thinking to myself it was a gimick. I was pleasantly surprised when I bought my truck that they're still around. It has an aftermarket HU that picks up HD stations. It's made the back alley vomit that is Houston radio bearable.

Hell yeah dude. I didn't think anyone e here would k ow about KACC the gulf Coast rocker so I didn't mention it. They broadcast from about 2 miles away from my house and I've had a few friends that were djs there. Once you get into the i mer loop 89.7 starts to cut out

Love LOVE that station. I usually listen to it when I head into work in the wee hours of the morning. Gets my day started off on the right foot.

I usually listen to boom 92.1, KACC 89.7, or the classic rock station (not sure if it's 106.9 or 107.5)

92.1 is fun too. Forgot about them. Isn't 106.9 & 107.5 the same station?

Who has the the morning show that interviews people at the court house? 97.9? That right there cracks me up.

Yes I believe they are the same now that you mentioned it.

Don't know, I can't stand the box. I had a manager that would play it all day everyday in the garage in conroe. They just play the same songs every hour over and over. It's pretty horrible when you work a 10 hour shift, hearing the same songs 10 times in one day. 40+ hours a week

The other stations, from what I could tell would only play the same songs 1 to 2 times everyday (I worked between 8am and 6pm) and add a few songs for variety every day, then changed about half the line up the following week. The box simply repeated the same hour all day except for mad hatter morning show then about 30 mins around lunch was throwback and at 5pm was htown, and once a month they might change a few songs on the hour loop from hell
fuck 97.9 they along with 94.5 have forever lost me

Fuck terrestrial radio. I worked with a guy years ago that listened to the "hip hop" station and it seemed like they could only afford like 9 songs with the "old school work out" for an hour at lunch to break it up. Satellite is where its at.... got it in 2010 and haven't suffered through Houston's excuse for radio since. Occasionally I have to listen to the bullshit "so-and-so plays more commercials than us" in someone else's car and it makes me that much more thankful to have the good stuff. When I can't decide, I always have Bluetooth for a backup where Pandora with no commercials and unlimited skips is nice.

Truth. I had satellite radio in my rental when my 99 was totalled. Liquid Metal, Lithium, Faction, Octane, and Ozzy's Bone Yard were my go-to's for about a month

Amen to that. I use Spotify and your artfully "reprogrammed" Pandora, for which I am grateful. I've been on the fence about subscribing to Satellite radio again, but my previous dealings with them and their sketch billing practices have left a permanent bitter taste in my mouth.

Black paint = the devil. No matter how hard you try, it always looks dirty. Spend a full day washing and detailing a black vehicle and five minutes after you're done it looks dirty again. You can practically watch and see the transformation before your very eyes.

Great ggoglie mooglie, do i love being able to get a double crown and coke for 2.25. god bless a college town. this is where i die. not in some shithole desert or the wadis of iraq. not in the mountains of afghanistan or flipping off an emaciated north korean..... nay, my friends, nay. it's in the land of maroon skies and collie dogs while chasing pert, young tail during the ridiculously priced, every-day-but-friday specials..... i shall die with a smile on my lips and a dollar in my pocket.

i have crash space for any interested in joining.

    and a driver.
