I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I'd love to know for sure but I don't think so because the other load ratings are using the 3 ply's. I'm really not as upset as sounded because I'm using these for the street and have a different set of tires to go wheeling with but the fact they don't mention it seems like a case of false advertising to me. I'd be really pissed off if these were the only tire I ran and they weren't what they said they are.
Ok let the :crapstorm: on me begin. LOL

I'll likely be switching over this week, just had to make sure I didn't want to live with these. #1 reason for the switch is because holding 70 mph up hills requires more gas pedal than I care for, #2 reason is fuel mileage but that's a minor reason. 16.6 was the best and 14.7 the worst over 4 tanks.

For what it's worth, there was a Jeep parked next to me at work Thursday that had the 265/70/17 LR C and while I could sense they were slightly smaller, if was difficult to distinguish between the two sizes.

For those concerned about ride, at 36 PSI, I think the LR E tires ride great. Noise is not an issue, only hear a slight whirring sound which the radio and wind noise drown out.

After being extremely skeptical about these tires since I had nothing but problems with my 265/75/16 Load range E original BFG AT KO.
These tires are very quite on the freeway, netting me 17-19 mpg and are smooth with no harshness, they seem a little slippy from a stop if I give it too much gas but im breaking them in, 200 miles since Saturday morning and i can break traction pretty easy, they corner well and stop well though.

I will give them a few hundred more miles before I feel they are properly worn in.

Hoping to see more 34/10.50/17 pictures. That's the size I'm wanting to get soon.

Me too, I think it'll be the sweet spot for a really stuffed but useful look on a 3" lift

I never got around to measuring the 275/70/17 LR E tire before swapping to the 265/70/17 LR C tires today, the 265 doesn't fill the wheel well nearly as well though.

I can say this from experience of having the 275/70/17 LR E tires on my truck for 1200 miles of all kinds of paved driving and today switching to the 265/70/17 LR C tires: The 275/70/17 LR E tires rode better hands down, no B.S. The only advantage to the 265/70/17 LR C tires is that they weigh 10 lbs a tire less so aren't sucking power and killing gas mileage (15.7 was average for the 275 after coming from the stock Dunlops at mid 18 mpg). An unfortunate trade off, the more harsh ride of the 265 may be due to the shorter side wall so this may be an apples to oranges comparison. I've already dropped the pressure in the 265 and that made an improvement but not enough to be equivalent to the plush ride of the 275 at 36 psi.

I'm thinking a 275/70/17 would have suited me perfectly if it maybe came in LR D, or just with a tire weight around 50 lb. The 265/70 just doesn't look right after having had the 275/70 but maybe I can put my mud flaps back on and save any more scratches/chips on the side of my truck, at least until Big Bend this fall.

Already looking forward to wearing these out or killing them on the trail so I can have another go at finding the right tire.

That's nice to know! I currently have 265/70/17 general grabbers and just got 275s KO2s sitting there. I do agree, 265s doesn't fill the wheel well enough.

What about for offroading? Aren't you sacrificing sidewall strength by going with a load C?

not enough to make a difference on a daily driver, if you rock crawl or travel with 10 psi over sharp ruts then you should be looking at swamper type mud crawler tires instead.

I have never had an issue with C rated tires offroading.

    Too few to list.
I only do dirt/desert trails and rarely come across rocks. If I was rock crawling, then I'd consider load E's. Besides, these are on my 2015. If I was gonna do some real off-roading, I'll be taking the 1st gen out.
