For the record, I have had nothing but positive interactions with @EddyRRT from SOS Concepts.
Not sure we are talking about the same guy here.

My interaction with him was not a negative one, however, the level of incompetence from the "I want a 5/16 skid with NO LOGO on it" to cracking welds on the main support towers due to improper welds and the bad mounting design in the first place tells me he needs to perfect his skill before he sells it to be used. The real test is that of the end consumer and if I can crack the welds on the skid and bend it right at the logo just by hitting one (and the first) sand dune, that tells me it was defective in the first place and the design clearly cannot hold up to a true rock crawler or high speed wheelers abuse.

This looks like a dent in the center, primarily because it is, but what you don't see is the fact that right at the lettering the steel is actually cracked due to weakening of the entire structure due to that gaudy logo.

Right at the O's and at the E letters.

Shipping alone for it would probably be $100. Thinking about it, I could probably make some money off it selling it as scrap metal at this juncture since it is junk.

Took my truck to my dealership for a frame test and they were extremely impressed with Eddy's welds in my sliders and bumper.. everyone in the shop came over to look at them.

I think your just pissed you wheeled your truck.. dented skids and want to complain.

My advice.. take the skids off.. go wheel like you did when you dented the skid.. then come back and tell everyone what you broke on your truck.

dude you whine so much, your truck got airborne, I mean seriously? The fact that you are making such a big deal out of breaking something from romping your truck around at the beach is seriously blowing my mind. I mean anyone with a small amount of education can clearly understand that a 3,600-4,200lb truck getting in the air and coming down full weight into a sand dune, regardless of how soft it is will bend or break something. I don't care WHO makes the damn skid be it anyone of the amazing vendors on this site, something is going to break if you hit it right and that is the point of the skids anyway, to prevent the damage happening to your truck. I mean your sig pic is sweet as hell but you have all 4 tires off the ground and at min you are 3 feet in the air! Do you know how many people commit suicide every year from jumping off small bridges? Yes water is soft so why would it kill them? Think about it...the sand is not going to move like a cushion of soft cotton to absorb your truck, it will be like an impact into cement.

Lets take another simple example for you. Being a runner I know that when you walk the force that comes down on your knees is about 1.5 times your body weight. That means a 200lb person will put 300lbs of pressure on his knees from just walking. Walking up and down stairs makes this about 2-3X the force. Now this doesn't even account for the force that is on your knees when you run or jump so that is much greater. Take our trucks and just say it weighs 3,800lbs with no aftermarket bumpers or parts, not getting into the specifics of it so let's keep it simple and just say 3Xs the force comes down when you land our truck. that would be 11,400lbs of weight coming down all at once on a 5/16 skid! And you are SURPRISED it broke? Come on man be serious with yourself. I can't tell if you are just trolling or being serious about this thing. Granted yes the logo does make the skid weaker, any idiot can figure that when you take a jenga block out of the tower is not as strong. But you should have mentioned that you got the wrong item a year ago to Eddy and let him resolve it. Making threads like these to bash someone's business is very childish and should honestly not be tolerated on here if you never manned up and spoke to him AFTER receiving the wrong item like a respectable adult. If you didn't want the dang "guady" logo (that word is very played out in the 20 times you have said it on numerous threads BTW) then grow a pair and contact him back when you got the dang thing, he can't read your mind, you saw the invoice and yes he made a simple mistake but you paid for it and didn't catch it either so you are just as responsible.

Sorry for being so harsh, I really have lost my cool from the multiple times I keep seeing this come up. I apologize honestly for anything said ^^^^ if it offended you or anyone else but I just needed to get this off my chest.

I like your built BTW very nice truck.

I got a very errand filled day today. Have to pick up all kinds of supplies and tools to do my spindles and battery relocate from multiple stores. I'm sure you rationality is justified. For the record that initial bend in at the angle of the skid happened when I first hit the dune, the truck never actually landed on the skid, that's why I'm talking about it. Normally yes I would hd contacted him, but he is across the country and shipping back alone would had cost a lot then to ship it back. Things would had gotten messy in that aspect so I bit the bullet and just decided to run it and see if it would hold up.

We all make choices, you chose to use it instead of returning it, now you're bad mouthing Eddy over your choice!
I think you owe the man an apology!

I dont apologize for weak structural integrity and the man should know better than doing that. One drop on a rock, dirt, whatever while you are wheeling in the center of the diagonal piece on the IFS skid and you just bent the crap out of it because all that material was taken out of the metal. Sorry, I'm not a fan boy of any vendor and if their design is wrong or structurally weak then it is what it is and they should consider a revision or something. The only regret I have is not returning it when I had the chance.

Funny thing.. Eddy has sold many skids with the logo cutout and wheel it.. odd that YOU are the only one complaining.. none the less a year later. If you don't like the skid, sell it.. get someone else's and go the hell on. Simple as that.

So you decided to talk shit instead, weak dude, instead of manning up you blame the vendor instead...
Must be nice blaming your mistakes on someone else.:beavisd: :smack:

it obviously bent right at the logo..... Also, the invoice from eddie, is from eddie. so saying with logo on the invoice doesnt mean anything, because eddie creates that..... just saying.

i wouldnt be happy either. i have literally nose dived my truck on my bumper and landed with all force on the bumper, and mine is just fine.

Fwiw: i have never done business with SOS.

    enough to go over stuff
First of all if you ordered a thicker skid and got a 3/16ths then that eddies fault. But when you got it and decided to keep it and use it then you are partially to blame. 3/16 skids are not meant to rock crawl or wheel hard. they break. Ive broken a bunch of them. Second I believe the skid would have bent regaurdless of the logo. Maybe not as much though. You should bend it back with a hammer. get whatever money you can for it on craigslist and get a 1/4 skid without a big logo. If you break a 1/4 skid your wheeling to hard. Hope you figure it out. we will wheel agaian soon. :)
