It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
I'm always concerned at the ones that don't list the carfax. That cute blue Yaris doesn't have one listed.

Just looked at the dealer's site for those $12K Versa's and it looks like it's somewhat of a bait and switch/false advertising situation.

Didn't read ALL the fine print yet but not sure it's completely legit..

Other cars with more options in the Versa class at right around 13K with discounts are the Hyundai Accent and Mitsubishi Mirage. I know not much about either one other than they are small lol.

its a Nissan that ran into the back of something then got rear ended hard so the trunk was pushed into the back seat. when the wrecker brought it back to the dealership they saw it and said "we should make a new car model that looks just like that one. that's the story of how a versa was born.

Actually, if you can stand the size and look, the Mitsubish Mirage is $11,750 new after discounts.

Yup. That would be the option. If she is willing to spend that and okay with that size of car the Toyota Yaris is extremely reliable. I'd also tell her to drive a Honda Fit as well, since the Fit is slightly larger.

That is hilarious, right when you posted that Keakar, I was just looking on cars.com and realized a brand new Yaris was $15K! Ha ha ha. Looks like a brand new Corolla is just shy of $16K around here. Hmmm.

Whoa, just googled it (Mit. Mirage) and they are not that horrid looking! About the same as the Versa and Fit really. I do like the way a Civic or Corolla looks better, but the hatchback would be convenient for loading dogs/groceries......and MPG and price are cheap on these ugly little things!!

or it doesn't have as good mpg but the brand new corolla is only $18,500 http://www.toyota.com/configurator/...olor/0209/interiorcolor/FA11/packages/option1

this one would last you for a good 15-20 years and is the best way to go if you can afford the payments. after tax title and license its probably right at $20k

and there are no previous owner issues or history to worry about, plus the color choices suck even more this year but they do have black

I was going through mitsubishi's USA webpage. A manual transmission Mirage is 13,808, but that includes delivery and doesn't include the $1,250 discount they are offering right now. So if you managed to haggle off the delivery charge ($900) and included the rebate your at $11,750.

Hmm, but for that cost she can get double the options on a Hyundai Elantra with double the warranty...

I don't think the new Corolla is a 15-20 year guarantee over anything else TBH. That's just brand loyalty talking :D.
