Everyone tries to spell my name like yours.

    I wouldn't buy a GM, but I don't trust ford. Between this: http://www.truedelta.com/blog/?p=894

And only equipping one cab configuration of the 2015 F150 with the small offset crash bars to save money but still advertise Top Safety Pick rubs me the wrong way.

Once the Accord is paid off the 2015 F150's that were on the 2 year lease program should be available for in that ballpark, if not a little less. That could be a solution.

I have a 0.5 year old as well

I could care less about leg room in an Escape. And quite honestly, auto manufacturers have been fudging numbers since, well, creation. As far as the crash bars, if you get hit or hit someone in an F-150, more than likely you will be the larger vehicle by statistics. That crash bar wont come in to play with a Prius or Miata. Also, they have plenty of airbags all around you now, so that doesn't bother me either.

I understand I have no control of other drivers, but the best way I see to avoid needing the crash bars, is to be the best driver I can be while on the road.

Yeah....I have been looking at FX4's and King Ranch's from 2010-2014 and there is absolutely nothing in my parameters. I could probably pick up an STX but shit....that's basically a Tacoma, with a little more space. Well...A LOT more space.

It is an honesty issue. They only equipped the version of the truck they knew would be crash tested. As far as the leg room measurement, they are the only one that does this as far as I have read.

Dodge used to fudge there HP and still fudged their tow numbers until last year. GM has the highest exaggeration on their MPG figures over the brand. Everyone is guilty of playing the system. At least Ford is adding the bars to all models next year, which sounds like there was a supply issue, and as for the Escape that's why you buy on lot and not on the internet.

Not to mention Ram and GM's recent cover ups on recalls that killed dozens of people.

Yeah....honesty issues with just Ford is a pipedream. They are all more than dishonest about many, MANY things.

Supply issue? I'd buy that if the sticker or their website said that the one cab of the truck had a safety crash bar that the other two were missing, it'd be a whole different story. Everyone that has a top safety pick plus when only configured with the auto stopping has an asterisks denoting the difference.

The escape thing does matter (and it isn't just escape. ford does almost all their cars that way). Who is served by rewarding corporations that lie? The next thing they lie about might be something you can't confirm/verify at the dealership.

FCA and GM should have their feet held to the fire for their cover ups. Their fuck ups don't give Ford a get out of jail free card.

My point was just that there are other reasons why those things happen. Ford is spending a huge chunk of change clading F150's in aluminum. I doubt a minor part like what we are talking about was left out to save a few bucks. Are they still lies? You bet. Every is doing it though in some way. Look at Toyota with the CAFE measures on the tonneau covers. It's pretty much bunk science that tonneau covers help with mpg but still Toyota is going to put them on 30% of there trucks, that's right from the factory so you can't haggle it off as easily, to get a bit better CAFE mpg rating on the Tacoma.

No FCA and GM fuck ups don't give Ford a free pass, but I trust Ford even more now after I've watched them do more recalls and spend more on R&D then GM or FCA and these crimes just prove who is at least giving some what of a moral damn. I've had three generations of F150. All were good trucks, including the 2015 in my driveway.

All used trucks have crazy resale value, but a used Tundra, F150, Silverado with a cap will give you more space than most suvs... The newer 4runners have more space and a Sequoia would be cool but cost a ton..... The Honda Pilot is bigger than the 4 runner but not a truck....

So if you want a truck I vote for the Tundra with a cap.....
