Nope these motors are pretty strong and many people have boosted at 200k plus.

I can only comment coming from an n/a auto to a 5spd s/c and I would say it is more than worth it!

The 5 speed is most definitely a help. Frankly if I had a choice of getting a 5 speed na or a s/c auto I'd choose the 5speed...

Say, Does anyone have opinions on the Unichip with the TRD supercharger? I need some kind of piggyback ECU to give her a better tune, and I'm trying to figure out my best options. I already have upgraded injectors from a toyota supra, which means the 7th injector kit from URD wont work for me unless I swap back to stock injectors. Which is what URD recommended when I chatted with them on the phone. That doesn't seem logical to me when I can purchase something else, do a custom tune and keep the injectors I currently have.

But if a custom tune is gonna be a hell of a lot more hasstle and tweaking, then maybe I am better off buying the URD 7th injector kit and swaping my other injectors out for stock. I am currently running pretty lean according to my wideband, (mid 15's in high boost)

I think you answered your own question, the URD7th is easier to install and you can still custom tune afterwards. wonder if you could leave the injectors in there and see how it does after the 7th kit install?

If you have the injectors already buy the piggy back from URD and tune it. I know urd talks people out of using the larger injectors and its because they don't want to deal with supporting it. The bigger injectors is a better and safer solution if tuned correctly. I would just get the piggy back and have someone dyno tune it for me honestly.

I charged mine at 200K I have 226 on it now. Im sure I will see 400K out of this motor the way things look now.

as far as the power gain goes. well I just sas'd mine and I can still smoke the 40's I put under the truck so yeah it's worth it.

Yeah. Their Map-ECU3 wifi version looks pretty snazzy. http://urdusa.com/store/Electronics...l-and-Ignition-Control-WiFi/product_info.html I guess thats an entirely different company. Oh more options.

Being able to tap into it with my iphone with wifi? hell yeah. Definetly a bit more expensive than the unichip, but hey you usually get what you pay for.

It does seem like unless I swap out for stock injectors and use the 7th kit. I'm looking at a custom tune one way or another. If your saying bigger injectors are better overall solution anyway then I should probably just stick with what I got and just have someone tune it for me on a dyno. It should be pretty set after that. I guess the question is who makes the best electronics.

URD did tell me not to run with my upgraded injectors with the 7th kit as it would cause problems. They did tell me I could use the ecu from their 6 injector kit but it will still need a custom tune because the injectors are a slightly different size lol. If i'm looking at a custom tune, it seems like some of these other piggybacks might offer more options.

Guess I'm pullin the thread a little off topic here. Oops :D

My motor has 178k on it and its had a supercharger bolted on since she was new. Still runnin like a champ. It sure is fun, but its kind of a money pit hehe.

stay away from the map3 ecu its cheap ricer piggy back, get something like an aem or haltech yes they will cost you a little more but you get a much more tunable product

My Gen 1 supercharger seal is leaking prematurely (rebuilt 20K ago). I don't want to rebuild the entire snout; just replace the seal. Anyone have a part number or source? Rollingperformance isn't responding.

Zzp performance you need their Eaton 4th gen rear m62 bearings. Rolling performance doesn't carry them now...

What rear bearing? The nose cone rear bearing is a 6303 C3 Open Nachi and the front bearing is a 6204 C3 Open Nachi. The rear needle bearings in the rotor housing are INA F65477.

Rollingperformance should have them, I ordered a couple a few months ago.
