Yeah exactly. The very good price I'd say is only if the thing looks immaculate and you're trying to be a nice guy with your offer lol

I think maintence records and history count a lot more than a couple hours of detailing and polishing, which frankly does nothing to improve the quality of the vehicle. But most people are impressed by shiny things...which help distract them from true flaws and unreported/hidden damage.

definitely, by being a detailer when i bought my 4runner i didnt even care about the paint. Made sure all the history was clean and the maintenance was on record.

Only thing i didnt check was the Center Diff lock, boy did that cost me.

Ouch, yeah, and that is a great point. On a 1st gen TRD, the only thing that really makes it a TRD that commands a price is the e-locker, and those can be a bust if never used or if abused.

Thanks guys for the input, I'm going to offer 12.5 and walk away. No way I'm paying 13 for it.

Btw, scocar I picked up those 5 stars just now. Super cool lady selling them and while they are clean they aren't perfect. Will work for me though. Sucks because she said she would have bought my 4Runner as is a month ago for 12k no questions asked. Timing doesn't always work out though.

You bring up great points and I checked out the Toyota service records. TB/WP changed 90k, CV boots replaced, oil changes at recommended intervals, spark plugs, you name it. Guy was meticulous with his records and maintenance. I plan on swapping the suspension for my own, so not a worry. Also I do all my own work, so TB/WP will only cost about $300 and my time in a year and a half when it needs replacing.

Haha well yours is a soccer mom mobile, so duh mine is worth more. It's the supercharger that really ups the price. I'm going to post it for sale for around $3200 when I pull it and my aftermarket stuff will go for another 3 or so. Then my 4runner is worth around 6k stock.
