Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Check Craigslist!!! LB caps pop up a lot since they are for the AC and DCLB. Was probably 6 LB ones I saw withing 200 miles for 500-1000 bucks in good shape and various colors. When I had my cap it was white and I had it painted for 250. So don't be afraid of the wrong color cap. Get what you can cheap and then have it painted. Just remove the windows before you do to save some bucks and get a better job done.

I really don't go "wheeling" and am not familiar with Shoe Creek, but why do these jack wagons think it's ok to damage other people's property? Would they want someone to do the same thing to them? And then they ruin the trails for everyone by being inconsiderate a--holes.

Some hear say from locals just said that people going off trail (which was a lot by locals and non locals) combined with getting into arguments with property owners is what did it. Also some hear say is the ones who were argumentative were not from the area. Sucks.

I have no idea why they do. I'm a staunch supporter of tread lightly. It's frustrating to see people with the DGAF mentality out on the trails.

My standard is tread lightly and no drinking while wheeling. Some people don't like it and I'm ok with it, I just won't wheel with ya.

At the moment I want to get a 6" BDS or Zone lift and get some icon or king shocks later on, but I am constantly changing my mind.

@SkyFlowTaco why 6". IMHO that's a bit excessive unless you're going SAS. You can go with a solid 3" from OME, Fox, King or (ugh) Icon.

I mainly bought the truck just to haul around dirtbikes. So the lift is pretty much just for looks. The only offroading I do is driving on the beach and occasionally light trails.

I have been going back and forth between 3" and 6" but when I really think about it the only thing pushing me toward 3" is the cost. So I think I'm just going to appease my inner child and get a good 6" DB lift.

In that case I'm out. To be honest, those are worthless and look like shit. A functional 3" lift with good tires is better than a DB 6" lift. I hate the idea of having to cut a cross member then bolt up a big flat surface under the engine. That screams "All show, no go" to me.

I feel ya. If I had the money I would get LT. But I just don't think I'll be happy with a 3". I think I'd be worried about stressed CV axles with a 3"

They aren't stressed. Buy the 3" you'll be happier especially if you ever get sucked into the wheeling bug. Ask any of the guys around here if they regret buying a db lift before going through the removal process to get a 3" kit. Also I watched a db crossmember snap this weekend, it was on an older 4runner but it's the same type of system you'd see on our trucks. Not something I'd want to have to deal with

You don't. They don't affect the CV'S as much as you're thinking
