That pic u quoted isn't the wires off the back of his dimmer. That connector is just hanging out back in there.

    Crap.
The wiring diagram shows G-R, W-G, and W-B wires off the back. Madjik you have a 5VZ M/T right?

I think all you will have to do is tap into the other wire (W-B) to complete the circuit.

Juesus fucking Christ this shit is the most frustrating easy shit ever! Out of pure frustration I just ripped the dash apart again!!! Unhooked the main harness ground from pin 7(illumination ground) then with a test light clipped onto pin #7 and with the pointy end of the tester I pierced the white with black stripe wire. It don't make a small pinch of shit difference! Mother fucker still dims backwards!!

Sky your recommendation didn't pan out.

Now what?? Should I reverse the two?

Shit is pissin me off to the point the lights don't even need to be on. Bout to run an add a fuse from the tail light fuse under the hood as my illumination! As someone posted earlier I'm afraid to use my dimmer as my illumination incase it burns up the switch, since it dims backwards for my rocker switches.

For what its worth I only get my test light to light when piercing the W-G wire(again ONLY dimming backward no matter how or what I use as the ground). I get nothing with the W-B. Which makes no damn since because there has to be power in and out of that fucking dimmer!

@bry838 When you say you get light when you pierce the W-G wire, Where is the other end of your test light attached?

It can be anywhere steering column or even the W-B(I pierced it too and stuck a needle through it to clip my light to). All configurations result in backwards dimming, or nothing at all.
How can there only be two wires and only one of which carrying current? I can't get my test light to light up with the W-B which is obviously a ground and works as such. But seems there needs to be two positives, one in one out....apperantly not though cause I can dim my dash just fine.

W-B is always a solid ground according to the diagram @Madjik_Man posted. Can you take pictures of the dimmer, I see the one you posted of the W-B and W-G wire you tapped into. Is that the only two wires in the dimmer?
    Auto or Manual?

    Yip the ONLY two
    Manual

The W-G must go to another apparatus that corrects the backwards thing before going off to the dash lights?? Its like magic I cannot wrap my head around this, and only two wires off the dimmer.....magic

No wonder this has never been done before....

Here is a 'dumbed down' version of the wiring diagram (Manual). I think it shows better the Dimmer wires you are looking at (R4) and why there are only 2 coming out. You need to find the G-R wire for the Lighting Positive and the W-G for Lighting Ground.

That makes since there has to be another wire I'm not finding! I'll look again.

IMG_20150731_180511_792.jpg there is my connector off the back of the dimmer. Two wires that fucking it!! And u can c the end of the dimmer at the top of the pic, no more wires.... The other connector in the pic is one that just hangs out up in there. It comes from the clutch start cancel switch.

2 wires is correct in that dimmer.
Is there a dimmed light in that clutch switch? If so that's the G-R wire you need! Test light between your blue wite and that G-R.

YEEESSSSSSS!!!! Success!! Put a needle through my illumination wire to clip my light to, then put the end of my test light into that empty connector at the G-R wire and bam! Proper dimming!!!!

I still don't get how the dash lights dim right without that G-R wire not connected directly to the dimmer...
