Ok. I'll most likely have Insain Fab mig weld the truss for me because the stick welder I have is very sloppy and it gets to hot even when I turn it down. I just don't want to chance it.

Don't know who they are. And my trust in welders and heat control are...few and far between. Hence the importance of opposing welds. If you look at mine, I don't have a traditional back brace truss. My truss is welded at the very top and very bottom of the housing tubes, 180 degrees apart so they pull equally. And the welds were stitched to prevent too much heat on one side at a time. Laser level shows the tubes dead nuts perfect to this day.

Can kind of see the stitch heat lines here:

I see what your saying with it being 180 from each other. I'm going to have to incorporate that into my design. Did you set your strike pad just right outside of the frame? Or did you center it on the hydro bump?

My hydro's are not completely perpendicular to the frame. I kicked them out a few degrees for gnarticulation purposes. But the bump tip basically hits centerish of the strike pad.
If i was to do it over again, I'd probably just put the bumps completely perpendicular and have it hit center pad again.

I did go with Fox. Toytec did say fox takes a while to get their shocks out so I just basically using this to see how long it takes them. We will see.

    Ha! Fox buddy.

Trust me I'm getting more then 10 percent off now.

Oh sorry. Yes it takes a while for fox to ship the shocks to me. Reasons unknown. But I'm in no big hurry.

That long run across the back - you gonna have Corey keep that one piece and plate break it or weld all 3 sides?

If you keep it in one piece, I'd recommend you have him put it on the brake.
If you have him break it... well, then it'll be broken and that's no way to start a project. :D

Not sure at the moment. But once I get the design done I'll be headed over there to talk to him and get his .02 but he is defiantly the guy I trust to weld the finish product to the axle. Some of the angles will be welded and some bent on the (break, brake) :D

Haha  I'm the last guy to know the difference between the two. :anonymous:

    Damn grammar nazis are everywhere.
Now that I think about it the width of that truss he can probably brake one side but there would not be enough room to brake the other side. But keeping it one piece of metal will definitely help strength.

Wish I could get back to work on the taco. Im stuck in bed resting my old injury from 2008 that I irritated at work this past monday. It's going to be a while before I spend any extra time on the project. Take care of your backs guys. Ruptured disc do suck.
