Yeah it's a blast I bet. The gf and I met up with a few local BRZ/FRS dudes for a cruise to a car meet a couple weekends ago. Was cool to check them out in person. One guy had a nicely setup FRS on Enkei RPF1's, Invidia N1, and a couple other little features like a rear diffuser and stuff. Another guy that showed up later had a turbo'd BRZ pushing over 400whp. It's a sweet platform for sure.

Yeah it's cool to see some of them around here. They're basically nonexistent in wyo.

Love the snow pic. I would of did a wrx instead of my ms3, but I don't need awd in socal. Tuning is addictive with how easy it is to do from Cobb. I don't know if I can go back to stock. I can't stand car forums either.

Yes we definitely need to go for a good drive sometime this year.

 mustangs are some interesting characters. Their "American" definitely shows in the corners. The WRX handles corners very well however the stock suspension definitely holds it back. It has more body roll than I would like it to have but some coilovers would help keep it more planted in the twisties.

    Thank ya sir

I'd have gone rwd as well if the weather in this region allowed it. At time I almost want to pick up a rwd project car but then i remember that I already have two money pits :anonymous:

Cobb is amazing though and so easy and user friendly. I know what you mean about going back to stock though. I ran it on a stock tune up until last month and even on a stage 1 Cobb OTS tune it's hard to want to go back. Car forums indeed suck. I hate going on NASIOC. I literally go on there for 2 or 3 threads I'm subscribed to. 90% of people on there are dickheads (just like in the normal car scene) so it makes the experience lame. I'd rather share my thoughts and experiences with a small handful of people with likeminded interests here on TW.

The turbo definitely makes up for the body roll :burnrubber: with some better rubber that thing will tear the corners up. What tires are you looking at?

Edit: true but the parents still are up there so I can always make a long weekend trip out of it.

Take a look a nitto neo gens if they are available in your size. They grip good. Even grip on packed snow with a fwd. Corner awesome and I got 40k miles out of my last set. Pretty cheap for how good the tire is. They even can handle a few degrees of camber.

Yeah good call. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for tires yet. Will probably just stick with a good all season. Still kicking around the idea of getting good summer tires for the aftermarket wheels then throw some snow tires on the stockers for winter time.

Really nice car! If I needed a car the WRX would be near the top of the list to be considered. My brother has a WRX hatchback, it's nice, but I've never driven it fast it not being mine.

Body roll is best cured with hefty anti-roll (sway) bars.

Still thinking about it. The second option would probably be the smarter of the two.

Thanks  it's a great car. I love it.

Good call on anti-roll bars. I had looked into them a while back but kinda forgot about them. They would definitely help with the body roll.

Test drove a '13 STI this week - pretty nuts. But for more $$ than a brand new WRX limited, but 3 model years old with 30k on the odo, I just couldn't justify it.

Yeah it's a little odd that they're still going for big money like that but I kind of understand at the same time. The 15's haven't grown on me and possibly never will. They lost a lot of character IMO and I think a lot of people feel the same and are willing to dish out the extra cash for older ones. Mine is just about to turn over 50k miles

My wife does not like the new WRX body style or the lack of a hatchback. The 13 WRX hatchback will stick around for a while.

Not many people I've talked to seem to like them very much. Honestly, in person they don't look too horrible when they're setup nicely. But I'd still never want to own one. They just kind of blend in with everything else on the road now..

I think the stiffer suspension on the current gen is at least worth the look. The STI is less of a temptation though - the gap btw the WRX & STI is smaller than ever.

I think they upgraded the steering rack as well, I've heard lots of good things about handling characteristics of the newer models. It's kind of odd that they gave the WRX a new motor but didn't do the same for the STi..

I wouldn't be surprised with a little corner slayer like that. The steering feel in my car could be a smidge better but I've never had any complaints about it. Suspension has always been my first complaint when in the twisties.
