We are keeping registration open until Monday night at midnight due to all the extra traffic we were getting last night.

Hmm just started thinking. I don't know what to do about firewood. I don't really want to buy any down around there so I was just gonna bring some from home. However I was just thinking idk if they like you bringing your own wood from outa state( pa dosnt like you bringing nonlocal wood to state parks because of that stupid invasive beetle). But my thought is to just get a bunch or 2x4s and pallets from work ( not chemically treated) knocking the nails out and cutting them up and bringing that.

I realize why they did the registration early. It sucks but it is what it is. But still I don't see why ppl can't go to windrock that weekend. I guess they just can't do the other stuff? I'm already registered so just throwing it out there to ppl who want to go but missed the registration.

Dumb question. My aunt wants me to ask my cousin if she wants to go. But I need to know will she just need a two day land use permit from the park? I know she can't really do any of the round up stuff. But if she just rides with me then all she needs is the use permit right?

She wouldn't be allowed in the special event area at all. So you would only be able to wheel with her once you get out of the special event area. She would need to get land permits thru Windrock on her own.

I believe so. You can still go to the park and offroad you just can't do any of the club event stuff. I think.

M192 , I really liked your truck. It's making it hard for me to decide between a front bumper or full skids next.

My biggest suggestion for this event going forward would be to limit the number of vehicles per group, and if possible assess their skill level ahead of time. I heard this echoed among many others as well. I went on the "radar tower" ride on Saturday which had 23 vehicles in the group. At several points the lead vehicle and tail vehicle couldn't even communicate without a relay because we were so strung out. We spent almost 9 full hours on the ride, and never even made our goal of the radar tower. The majority of that time was sitting on the trail not moving. We did have a vehicle that had two blowouts on separate occasions which really slowed us down as well. From what I heard the trails were a lot more difficult than some people were expecting from the trail briefing. Perhaps in the future people could sign up for trail rides before the event, or when they arrive at the event, and have a limited number per group. I'd also suggest making the rides a little shorter and more frequent, ie instead of an A-B trail ride for the day, maybe have a morning ride and an afternoon ride that are a little shorter. That was the only downside I saw to the entire event. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be back in the future.

thanks. I really liked your pro too. Yeah I agree. I heard somebody say some "guides" couldn't make it so they were short handed. Next time I will just try to find a few guys about the same level as me and just do our own thing.
