Ok so next week I will be traveling from Northern Kentucky to Coco Beach Flordia for my little sister wedding. Her wedding is on the 31st (Yeah I know what a day to get married 10-31-2009...Halloween) Does anyone that lives down around that area "Coco Beach" know of anything fun to do except Disney World and the surrounding theme parks? I'm going to be there for a total of 5 days and am going to need some entertainment. THANKS

Wow - Coco beach is awesome... On the way to FL, you should try to check out St. Augustine... A bit of a drive from there (but cool nonetheless).

Cocoa Beach kinda sucks, not much to do. If you want to do something water sport like you can check out orlando water sport complex. Ive never been but have driven by and looks pretty badass. It is basically a lake with cables that pull you across ramps and what not.

Yep, Orlando Watersports Complex is awesome. I have been going to Cocoa Beach for over 30 years, I've only lived in FL for 2 years lived in TN the rest of my life. During the day we usually just chill on the beach and surf if the conditions are good. At night we party at Coconuts on the Beach down at Minuteman Causeway. The music plays there all day on the weekends and shuts down early at night, I think 11pm, because of the old neighbors. Go to Durango Steakhouse and order one of their Mexican dishes, they are AWESOME!

Oh yeah Milliken's Reef in Cape Canaveral, just a few miles away from Cocoa Beach. Awesome seafood, steaks, whatever. Kinda pricy but the atmosphere is great. Outside Tiki Bar with dancefloor surrounded by sand. Plus there are a couple gocart places on the way back to Cocoa Beach.

I'll keep adding things as I think of them.

We thought about renting a boat but we decided to maybe go deap sea fishing...

We used to go down there for our spring training for crew and row.... little bit different as we were in a hotel with 80 teammates drinking/partying but we did get to go visit space center, theme parks etc. Universal is my favorite. But the space center was cool except expensive.... Other than that kind of stuff there wasn't much for us to do...

deep sea fishing...don't go on a "family boat" or go the nighttime shark fishing crap. you must do a full charter, usually 6 person limit, for half- or full-day in order to catch any quality fish. do you homework this week on the internet to see what kind of fish are running in the area and you can go to the docks around 3pm and watch the boats come in and see which boats are more successful. this is also in Cape Canaveral. by all means, if you want to bottom fish all day with a bunch of screaming brats, do the $35 per person "family boat" but I promise you won't run into me on those boats.

I'm sure there is a lot of stuff to do down there but I dont have much money since I have to get a rental car, pay for the hotel room, and rent a suit this weekend... its going to be a very expensive weekend... I'm kind of looking for cheap fun things to do... Whats the best beach to go to? Best bars? Things I need to see when I'm down there?

That is def something to keep in mind. I think that we would be doing a full charter because there is probably going to be around 15-20 guys going... Should make for a fun drive in the rental cars to the dock!!!

the best spot on the beach to party is at Coconuts. if looking for seclusion head south a few miles. Coconuts is the only bar that will ever be close to packed in Cocoa Beach. Surfers Pub is OK (with a great music selection on the jukebox) but they allow smoking there which drives me crazy, they have a couple pool tables and dartboards. Pig and Whistle used to be a fun place with pool, darts, and pingpong but the have moved and I haven't been there since the move. don't drive drunk especially in Cape Canaveral.

i hope it's good there for you, the food is just a little better than OK and the service is at times questionable but we usually go there at least once a day when we're in the area.
